It’s not a rare or unique firearm that would be hard to replace for me. It’s the laws. In the shit hole that is Washington, almost everything I own would be illegal to buy again. My overlords would allow me to replace a few hand guns is about it.

I am not all that attached to any one gun, so I don’t know. I would just get something else that met my needs.

Well, I have my Father’s BHP that he obtained a war trophy in Vietnam. So, for me, it’s a one-of-a-kind and would be impossible to replace.
My Colt-Thompson 1921AC wouldn’t be impossible to replace but likely cost prohibitive. |

My original 1864 5th moden Burnside carbine with near mint bore

Probably my minty, all original, Inland M1 carbine. It is exactly as it left the factory in 1944.
The bottom one. Attached File |

Quoted: Not mine but one I bought for my son. Started off like this. Complete junker 54 caliber left hand Kit Carson rifle, Bubba did everything wrong that could be done wrong. I bought it for a song and went to a gunsmith buddy of mine who specializes in BP rifles. https://i.imgur.com/0O1TEF6.jpg And he turned it into a work of art. https://i.imgur.com/MNTnijq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/0gqsx1h.jpg There is no way it could ever be replaced. Grand dad’s old double barrel shotgun. 16 ga, long 30” barrels. Old cheap, working man’s shotgun. Not worth much. Priceless for the memories.

Charlton Heston's Colt SAA, built on an Ainsworth inspected Colt SAA four digit frame and converted by Stembridge Gun Rentals in the 1950s would be a challenge.
Winchester 1873 First Model Deluxe with a 30in barrel, set trigger, XXX Fancy Walnut shipped December 31, 1874 would also be a challenge. |
|
While not really all that rare it would probably be the Smith & Wesson 69-2.
Been meaning to actually sell it but just have not gotten around to it. |

For uniqueness / being somewhat rare, my 1971 Marlin 39D with white spacer.
For sentimental value, my Stevens .22 S/L/LR bolt action rifle that my parents gave me for Christmas in '69 (my first gun) and my Mom's Ruger Speed Six I inherited when she passed. |

Colt Combat Commander made by Claudio Salassa when he was at Briley Custom. Old s6chool two tone. Blued slide on a stainless frame. hand fitted Bar-Sto barrel, and fantastic trigger.
Custom Marlin 336 take-down with a collapsing stock. I've never seen another one. An original Hudson H9. Unfired, and the first one off the production line and verified by Cy Hudson. Serial number 1000. Pre production guns started with 1. Production guns started at 1000. In the maybe class, a West German marked SIg Sauer P226 X5 in the original box, and the .22 conversion kit with a threaded barrel. Caesar Guerini Summit LTD 12 gauge with a left hand stock. Single Action only standard CZ75 with .22 Cadet conversion. I have my father and uncles Remington Nylon 66 rifles. |

Family heirloom stuff nothing super valuable though
Of those my grandfather's Ithaca deerslayer with notches cut in the stock for all the bucks he's killed with it. I killed one of my first bucks with it someday I hope one of my son's will take it out to put meat on the table |

I haven’t replaced any since my boating accident. It’s sad but they haven been able to be replaced. All of my fire arms. Gone. I’m unable to replace any.

Civil war era Lorenz Rifle.
Was visiting my friend (FFL and dog groomer), guy walks in with the rifle. We both though it was repo, so my friend wasn't interested. I told him I would take it for $50. Did not realize that it was real until I got it home, took it apart and started looking into it. |

I don't have anything that would be impossible to replace, but I do have a few that cost so much more now compared to when I bought them that I don't think I could bring myself to pull the trigger nowadays.
ETA: after reading some more of the thread and thinking about it, the two transferrable Chinese underfolder AKs I had Mario at Piece of History Firearms turn into an AK-105 and AK74M would probably be tough to do again. I scrounged forums and GB for over two years to get as many Russian, or at least COMBLOC, parts for the builds. With sanctions I'm not sure you could get it done unless you had a dude in Russia willing to ship parts that "fell off a truck" or bought a few complete Russian rifles from folks in the States to cannibalize for parts. |

The single shot .22 rifle and the 20G shotgun that I got on different Christmases when I was a kid. None of the others have any sentimental value.

Probably the Marlin 39A from the 70’s that I got from my FIL.

1915 A.H. Fox Sterlingworth, 12 ga improved modified and extra full chokes. My grandfather's shotgun, bought the year my dad was born. Don't know what it's worth and don't care.

Either of the Martini Henry rifles the Enfield jungle, or the 3" Ruger GP 100 in .44 Special.

Alan Harton full-custom .44 Spl. conversion of a Ruger old model .357 revolver based around Elmer Keith's #5 grip frame. Elephant ivory grips. Case colored by Doug Turnbull. Harton's hexagon (Octagon?) barrel. #5 base pin lock. An absolutely gorgeous revolver that shoots as good as it looks. It took almost 2-years to complete and Alan only works on Colt revolvers now. It may be irreplaceable.
