Looks great. I haven't found my gyro spot yet.

My wife slow simmered a red curry with lentils actually pairs well with tequila

Love lentils.  I get bags of tiny, tiny lentils from Norcia in Italy.  Small diced carrots for sweetness and cubed pancetta.

What a gyro indeed.

There are plenty of gyro places in the MKE area. Most all on a spectrum of slightly mediocre to more mediocre.

This is from the place that just opened with the new food market.  Restaurants in this food market where invitation only I believe.  These Greek guys had another well regarded restaurant locally that I was never personally impressed with, but it was always busy.  They were asked to do a quick serve menu for the market and they included gyros.

Gotta say, they nailed it.  Good flavors, good quality. Two areas where most of the others fail and try to make up for it by giving you more.  I don't want more mediocre, I want more better.  The salad was even really good, and its a frickin salad.

Also, Op, there's no tequila in that pic.  Yer fibbin again. Food looks good though.

it's called c-h-e-e-s-e.  It's made from milk.  I think they sell it at stores, even up by you. Try some.

This was particularly good cheese.  I will have to ask if they get their feta cheese from Green County.

I'm a little surprised you're not beating Op up for focusing his picture on that knife instead of the goat.

I haven't had a decent gyro in years to I'm fixated. Cheese has no place on one though.

ummmm, while not required as a rule, it's pretty common.  And this was some quality feta.  maybe the problem is you just haven't had good cheese on your gyros.

you're so jaded

or too close to the border and a little too Minnesotan...

The best Greek cheese is from Monroe, Wisconsin.

The same is true for the best Swiss cheese, German cheese, French cheese, Dutch cheese, Belgian cheese, Italian cheese, Mexican cheese and on and on. We know cheese.

eta: pic thread. Still probably my best butter knife. So long as the butter is warm.

Oh FFS Op.

I am a discerning individual, not discriminating.

Fifth, my avatar is a Bavarian bull, not a Wisconsin milk cow.

Further, if you ever bothered to catch up, I provided a link to what I think they used, which clearly states it is a COW milk feta. In pertinent part:

Often confused with the Vermilingua, the Aardvark is more of a sniffer than a sucker.
