That would go great with a $22 cup of coffee.

The coffee was only $14 and the glass of water was $8.

My wife was telling me that someone at her work paid $30 for Wendy’s the other day.

It was a baconator, fry, and frosty I think it was. It was from one of the food delivery services.

I said that’s as dumb as going to the payday loan places and paying several hundred percent interest. I’d go hungry all day before paying that. And they also have a canteen service there too. It’s insane.

I got pizza hut last week.   Online order and I picked up: 1 large pizza, 12 wings, and bread sticks.  $72 fucking dollars!

That's crazy for Pizza Hut.  There is one not too far from me that we occasionally order from, my wife always does it so I am not familiar with how much it costs.
I just checked to see what my costs would be for the similar order to yours.
Large meat lovers - $19.99
12 traditional wings - $20.49
1 order breadsticks - $7.49
Total                       $47.97

I am guessing its reginal pricing or someone added their tip to your order.

Wings are expensive lately. 65 including taxes and tip isn't that bad.

Ubereats is retarded, much rather spend 20min going to a from the place to get my food.

Then I asked my brother one day why the fuck he had some chipotle delivered when it’s a 5 min drive away.

“I’ve been drinking all day, can’t drive”

Yeah, okay, fair point.

And with no obnoxious tip culture, because the pizza just gets stowed in the kiosk waiting for you order PIN.

If I am going to go and pick up you food for you and deliver it to your home you will have to make it worth my while.  Vehicles ain't cheap, gas ain't cheap, insurance ain't cheap and neither is my time.

I've never done the Uber Eats thing, but isn't the food more expensive when doing that to pay for the delivery driver?

A guy I used to work with would DoorDash Chick-Fil-A in every now and then.  A chicken sandwich meal and a drink is like $15 before the tip when you do that.

yep. uber eats prices are always higher vs if you look at menu price directly for the place.  gotta make their $$$$$ then expect a tip. ??

2 cheese steaks and 1 order of fries is now $38 from the local pizza shop, and that's picking it up myself.  Used to be about $20, for years and years.  Not doing that anymore.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that we eat out twice a week, with a regular crowd of friends, and have been doing so for many years.

The last four years of inflation, have made me really re-visit the idea of eating out so much.  Except for my wife enjoying getting with her friends so much, I would have already stopped it.

We drop anywhere from $65 to $100 every single time.  It's the biggest single expenditure we make every month and it's a lot of money that I think I could really find some better uses for.

Holy shit, where are you at, the moon? I get Pizza Hut fairly often because there's one located on the way home from a girl's house that I like to spend late nights with. It's nowhere near that price around here.

$36 and change plus tax. Those wings are expensive as fuck, though.

How much was the UberEats markup? I bet it was less than half if you went and picked it up.

this, i compared an order between DoorDash and direct with the restaurant. The DD order was something like $55 while the direct order was something like $30

Delivery services always charge a premium for the product.

Prices in FJB's economy are ridiculous.  I took my kid out for ice cream last week.  2 sundaes and a regular order of fries were 40 bucks.  I've been going to that place almost every summer for 40 years, but that will be the last time.

Just got two large pizza, Hawaiian, pepperoni and sausage, one 'specialty' pizza - BBQ chicken, 12 pizza twists (fancy cheese bread sticks), two large to go salads.  $90.  But I did go pick it up, and it was good.

You could have tipped 8.7 billion and had a really big headline.

The delivery and tip are part of the lazy tax.
