Good to meet you Friday night. Friday was about the fewest pickers ever, come back and there may be 10 or more! Hope you make it to the Apocalypse!

I had a chance to visit the distillery a month or so ago and I have to say that it is worth the visit and they have some awesome Bourbon.

The gin and vodka is pretty damn good also.

And what they have in barrels is even better. Really looking forward to getting a few bottles of that.

I could see the GAYBC ruining that though

Thanks for the @.   Love to go, but I’ll be at the Michigan game in Seattle that weekend.

Hopefully if there’s one next year I can attend.

Yep, just bought a ticket. I'm just outside of Charlotte NC and looking forward to it. I have plenty of vacation time to burn so I can come up Thursday and I'm happy to volunteer with any setup. I will bring my smoker and plan on cooking some ribs, chicken, etc.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure enough of my schedule in October to be able to commit at the moment.

I was between an NX8 and a Vortex 1-10 and I purchased the latter because of Vortex's amazing support of the arfcom community. It's been awesome it got ran over and still held zero

Truthfully I can handle hundreds, but not without some industry support, which we are starting to get, and some volunteers of which we have some of those as well.

However. We are only in day two of ticket sales and we have an excellent showing this far. I expect at least ten percent won’t show.  But I also suspect we will add many more in the coming days. But I completely understand some folks need to wait till a later time to sign up, and that is ok. But if you can then please sign up early. I also will have to produce shirts and I do t want a bunch of weird leftovers nor do I want to run out.

While I am at it let me remind every one of the Fleabag Flea Market. Get your extra and unwanted gear together (no firearms) and make a couple dollars while passing on good deals.

Lay me say one more thing….this is your weekend guys. We are talking about classes and tours and movies and contests but you don’t have to do any of that. If you want to fish all day and drink around the fire and that’s it, then do that!

Appreciate it and that makes sense. I’ll sign up this week and worst case it’s a $25 donation to the event! I don’t know what I’m doing a week out yet alone a month out half the time.

If anyone is wondering here are the median temps. However, this is the beginning of October so rarely is it that chilly.

However this same weekend last year in Alabama had me bundled up at night. So you never know. But I think we are all hoping for a bit chilly nights.

Also…I am going to be in limited contact for a few days this week. I am getting a lot of messages and whatnot. So if you don’t get a response right away just be patient. I have to go be a Bird Nerd for a bit.

It sounds like we have a genuine interest in a pig roast. I think that is a Saturday evening/night thing, right? I can help with logistics on this as far as procuring the pig and probably a smoker. But I won’t have any part of cooking for sure.

Guys I am getting pumped. When Vortex steps up and hands out a few grand in optics for giveaways we are definitely headed in the right direction.

I am going to line up a food truck at the distillery I hope for Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. For reference the distillery is 5 miles from camp.

I was back on the river this a day ago running. We have plenty of room and the road is in really good shape. There are two roads into the property and as such I think I will have one as an entry and the other as an exit as they are both single lane and one is along a river bluff. Don’t worry, there will be maps, signs, tape, and it will all make sense.

TVille is my XO on this and we will scout it out soon to really start planning site layout.

Also I am digging through gear for the Fleabag Fleamarket. So far a like new pair of Danner USMC boots, and I am sure I have a cheap machete or two I can let go.

banana leaves are easy, they sell them at HMart and all the asian stores.  Trunks probably not so much.

Thursday bump!

The last time I had a pig in the ground was 20yrs ago in NY of all places. No idea how it was done, but man was it good .  I’d say a smoker is definitely easier.
