My daily driver is a 73 mustang. This body style is better than the previous ones for driving around.
351 cleveland with some go fast parts in it, tremec TKX, hydraulic clutch, intake, headers, 3" exhaust, tuned with a carb cheater. It came with power disc brakes, AC, power steering, and a 9" rear. I have swapped the seat belts to 3pt lap belts. If I was made of money, I would possibly get a higher optioned car like a boss 429. 1973 mustang idling Quoted: Soon to be even more daily drivable when I put in a 700R4 https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/47594/IMG_0235-3162225.jpg View Quote Make sure you do the rear end, too. I put a 700r4 into my C-10. With the 2.54 rear end, it was pretty lackluster. |

Quoted: I love muscle cars and hot rods, but I'm old enough that I don't want that stuff for a daily. I'd go for a bigger, sporty model like a Torino or Satellite, or maybe even a full-sized car like an Impala. Modern FI engine with OD trans, air conditioning, power accessories, and a nice stereo. A pre-1975 car as a daily driver? That's sounds awful.
If I need it to get to work on time, think I would go with a Mercedes or a Volvo, as they built really reliable cars in those days. A 1974 Volvo 240 Estate would be my first choice, with a Mercedes 240D as my close second. (Funny that both cars have the same model number. ) ... also, I LOVE the old Volvos, so that is sort of a "Dream" car. |

75 is a lame cutoff. Think I’d just do a Supercab F-250 or F-350(if such a thing exists). With all the trimmings especially AC and modern drivetrain.
With an unlimited budget I could make just about anything a good daily driver. |

Quoted: ... With an unlimited budget I could make just about anything a good daily driver. View Quote That's a fair point. With an unlimited budget, I could have a warehouse of parts and a team of mechanics living above my full equipped worshop garage and following me in a truck every time I drove anywhere. In that case, screw the reliable Volvo/Mercedes and give me a restomod 1969 Mustang Boss 302 or 1974 Aston Marin V8 Vantage. |

Probably a Ford or Chevy 4x4 pickup cause I always need a truck to haul stuff.
However, As someone who was actually driving cars in the 70's, there were a whole lot of good cars I would be happy to drive everyday. The choices are too many to list. Off the top of head.... Mercedes sedan. Porsche 911. Mustang. Camero/Firebird. Blazer. Bronco. Land Cruiser. Any American 4x4 pickup. All good reliable transportation. |

That’s a tough choice. I’d love to say something impractical like a GT40…but because roads here suck and I never get over 45mph on the way to work, something like a restored Bronco might be better.
