It all depends on what their mission orders are. There is a vast difference between handing out water and food, shepherding people into a holding area, and shooting people off the top of the wall, or shooting any who try to bum rush a barrier.
I want to know what their orders will be. Here are some possibilities: 1. They don't come in at all, under any circumstances, even if deadly force is all that can keep them from crossing some line. 2. Gently guide them into holding areas for processing. 3. Water cannon, sonic repellents, microwave heat generators and other non lethal area denial weapons. 4. Military Jersey barriers (the 20' high ones, not the 3' high freeway ones) and water cannons to keep people from attempting to climb over the top. 5. Any other ideas? |

OK, so 800 support troops first.
Now an additional 5,000 support troops. What if they are just there to setup for the next wave of troops? Set up facilities, layout and setup detention areas, etc. Then, with 1 or 2 days before the mob arrives, then comes the deployment of the main force. A lot to hope for, but the president has show with sending another 5,000 that he can deploy troops there at any time. They don't have to do it all at once. It would be nice if they were just a prepatory party. |

They may very well be there to clash with Mexican troops trying to push the caravan in to the US.
This IS currently Mexico's problem and they are to blame for allowing those people to traverse their country to get to the US where they should have turned them away at their own borders. It should be declared an act of aggression against the US by Mexico and treated accordingly. Would not surprise one bit if Mexican troops start shooting over the US-Mexico border. Then it's game on motherfuckers !!! |

Personally, I think that the troops will be there to help the "Asylum" seekers fill out paperwork before entering this country. I believe that between the bleeding hearts, the Democrats and the ACLU, the majority of the caravan will enter into our country and disappear until the next amnesty call.

Family Units in ICE Custody Being Released
From the looks of it, it seems that those that are going to cross illegally are probably going to be "released". fter decades of inaction by Congress, the government remains severely constrained in its ability to detain and promptly remove families with no legal basis to remain in the U.S. As a result, family units continue to cross the border at high volumes and are likely to continue to do so, as they face no consequence for their actions.
To mitigate the risk of holding family units past the timeframe allotted to the government, ICE began curtailing all reviews of post-release plans from families apprehended along the southwest border starting on Tuesday, October 23. Family units that are released will be enrolled in a form of ICE's Alternatives to Detention or released on another form of supervision. Aliens will be issued a Notice to Appear in immigration court, as appropriate. ICE continues to work with local and state officials and NGO partners in the area so they are prepared to provide assistance with transportation or other services. |

Trump sends 5,200 troops backed by Blackhawks, drones and C-130s in the air to the Mexican border to 'deter' caravan from ever arriving - as agents rehearse for riots in El Paso.

The outcome will be interesting. This pressure is causing more LE attention on the border, making drug trafficking more difficult. I wonder if the cartels will get involved in discussing these groups in the future. It’s got to be hell on business.
As a side note...I’m sadly disappointed in the overall lack of investigative reporting across all networks. The “no bad people in the caravan or coming across the border” line is blatantly false. While the details are LE sensitive, every week handfuls of people from the ME, African, and SW Asian nations that have a significant Islamic extremist presence are detained at the border. That’s just the ones who are caught. |
