I’m a big fan of German watches, mostly because I enjoy the mechanical utilitarianism of many of them and much of my ancestry is German. I was also born there while my Dad was serving in the Army. Lately, I’ve decided to focus the non-Rolex area of my collection in a more German direction and at the same time try to trend a little smaller. I’ve sold a few watches and I’ve traded a few watches and these are what I’ve purchased recently.
1st is the Stowa Antea Classic 365. It’s 36.5mm and less than 10mm thick in a classic Bauhaus design.
2nd is an Archimede Outdoor 39, a more modern take on a field watch with a full lume dial.
Last but not least is the Sinn U50.S.BS a limited run black tegimented U50 with a blue/black gradient dial. It’s a twin to the U50 I already own but the color way gives it a completely different vibe. At this time the two U50s are the largest watches in my collection at 41mm but they are thinner and little lighter than most watches in this size range.
At this point, I’m much happier with my watch box and with all of the selling and trading I freed up a little hobby $$$ that went toward my new elk rifle.
ETA, the rifle is a Seekins Havak Element in 7 PRC with a NF NX8 4-32 in Seekins rings.
