I've had a bunch of them but this is my first Gen 5. Total round count over 3k now and it's the most accurate glock I've owned.

Went w/ a 19C over 20 years ago and it's been my a regular carry gun. On the same principal why carry a 17 when a 19 will do everything the 17 will in a slightly smaller package?  Pick what works for you. |

Personally I think the G19 is the perfect balance of size, weight, caliber, and capacity. Small enough to conceal easily but still big enough to manipulate correctly. To me the 17 feels like it's unnecessarily large for a couple extra rounds. I used to have an Sig 229 and whenever I handled a 226 it just seemed like the larger size didn't serve any practical purpose. I will say that a full size pistol doesn't get swallowed by Safariland duty type holsters, where having a slightly larger grip makes it easier to get a hold of.

30+ years ago a buddy handed me his new G19.
It had all the firepower and capability of a full sized service pistol like a Beretta 92/M9 in a much smaller, lighter package. I was impressed. |

It’s amazing that I have survived this long considering there’s nothing bolted to my G19. It’s a plain gen2 with no bolt-ons. I should tell the mrs to start planning my funeral.
