Back in the days when every self respecting, red blooded American man had a car with a V-8 and a 4-barrel it was common to have mufflers of a type known as glass packs installed. You drove around til they were good and hot and then went to the car wash and sprayed cold water from the rinse function up in them to bust all that fiberglass packing up. Then you hit the highway to blow it all out and get that awesome rumbly sound glass packs were known for. Then when you got pulled over for straight pipes you said "But officer, I have mufflers! Look under the car!"

Last job, taking out some fairly major equipment, I had a non-powered cable cutter. Basically the handle worked a ratchet, and the working surface was a cutting blade with a ratchet-powered handcuff-like gearing. So it would tighten but not release. Did 2" cables real nice.

I showed it to several coworkers, the guys were all "That's so cool!" and my female big boss was like "That's horrible! That's like something Tony Soprano would have."

We didn't talk guns much...
