I always buy.
In fact most people on this site are still buying through their employer sponsored plans. |

A friend has been trying to get me started day trading. Rough learning curve.

At about noon I was wondering if the Dow would shed 1K. Now I wonder where the bottom is for the day.

It’s a rough day. Still chunking money in…but prioritizing cash a little more
Just me though |
|
I'm hodling mostly cash watching for entry. I don't think anytime soon is going to be the bottom, there's at least a few months of this garbage time left.

I hadn't looked until just now. Ouch. Glad I'm not in the market and in before someone says it's a stock sale.

Buy when there's blood in the streets. Even if some of that blood is yours

Been in cash since nov. Itching to buy. Finally pulled trigger and bought a little Tesla today.
This is not the bottom for spy. |

I am still buying, but I did quit updating my spreadsheet that shows performance. I don't think I'm going to update it for a little while.

I have been buying since Dow 2500 or so. Still buying.
This temporary decline will be like all of the others. Don't panic, have some dry powder and you'll be fine. |

I don't understand why stocks aren't going up. We have really high inflation and I was told stocks always go up when there is inflation. But now a company like Target is saying inflation is pinching their profit margins and the stock is down over 25% in a day.
Maybe that's why during the stagflation of the 70's stocks were flat. |

I buy and sell almost every trading day. Sell puts on down days and if assigned then sell covered calls on up days
Plus gamble on options and some realllllllly speculative stuff My IRA is pretty much set it and forget it, kinda like my HSA |
|
I haven't sold anything, but I changed my contribution in both my 457b and my stock account to cash. When I think we're close to bottom I'll buy in.

View Quote Still? Of course. Buying now sure beats buying at the highs. But I dollar cost average so I'll buy all the way down and enjoy the ride back up. |

Buy oil companies. Q2 earnings will be thru the roof. Gasoline prices are always ahead of the real cost. $10/gallon gas by Q4.

The parking lots of their stores around my area of Ohio are always deserted compared to Walmart. They must be able to sell less stuff at a higher margin. Or maybe it's just different in other parts of the country. |

The wild oscillation we are seeing right now also happened before the 2008 crash, if I remember correctly.
I think the mother of all crashes is looming on the horizon. Hope I'm wrong, because I'll get a big haircut. But I've had them before. |

Taking it in the pants is going hurt a lot of people when this plays out.
Just keep following the herd. |

Been out for years.
Zero bills, home and new vehicles paid off. Waiting for the correction and ass hurt. |

I say let it drop.
at least for my company stock, I buy at a percentage off the lowest price in a 6 month period |
