A suspect is in custody after police were called to a disturbance in Deep River and found a deceased person.

According to State Police they responded to the disturbance at 3:36 p.m on Maritone Lane which remains blocked off by Police at this hour.

State Police say they are still working on confirming the identity of the deceased person and have not said how they believe the person died but do say a suspect for the death is in custody in Massachusetts and there is no danger to the public.

According to State Police the investigation remains active and is ongoing.

Connecticut State Police said they responded to a report of a suspicious incident at a property in the town around 3:36 p.m. The deceased’s identity has not been confirmed, as the investigation is in its preliminary stages, according to CSP.

A suspect in the investigation has been taken into custody in the state of Massachusetts, state police said, noting that there is no active threat to the public. Boston 25 identified the suspect as Jared Ravizza.

A source told Boston 25 that the death investigation is connected to two stabbing incidents in Massachusetts, one at an AMC movie theater in Braintree, Mass., and the other at a McDonald's restaurant in Plymouth, Mass.

According to the Braintree Police Department, Ravizza went into the town's theater on Grandview Avenue at 6 p.m., going past the ticket counter and into a theater "without paying," before attacking and stabbing four girls, aged 9-17.

The attack appeared to be unprovoked, Braintree police said.

Ravizza ran out of the theater after the stabbing and took off in a vehicle, according to Braintree police. All four victims were treated by the town's police, fire and paramedic crews for non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Boston hospitals.

Using video footage, Braintree police said that their patrol officers and detectives determined that the Ravizza had left the theater in a black SUV. Despite no longer being in the area, a license plate was captured and an alert was put out to surrounding police.

According to Massachusetts State Police, troopers received 911 calls at 7:04 p.m. for a stabbing at the McDonald's restaurant located at the Route 3 Park and Ride in Plymouth.

A 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were found stabbed and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, MSP said.

After obtaining information about the Ravizza's vehicle, MSP said they located it traveling along a road in Sandwich, Mass. The vehicle failed to stop as troopers attempted to pull it over and crashed.

When Eyewitness News first arrived on scene, there were several troopers in the backyard of a home and cruisers parked on the street.

Police have yet to say the identity of the person who died but say the suspect was taken into custody in Massachusetts.

Eyewitness News spoke with a man who said he just saw the people who live in the home involved in the investigation.

“We were just talking yesterday. We just met the folks, they came into town. It’s a quiet town. This has never happened here, very genuine, nice guy. I’ve been talking to both of them. They’ve only been here a few weeks, but this is just a terrible incident,” said Joe Ostering, neighbor.

Sources told WBZ-TV that the suspect is connected to a series of stabbings in Massachusetts, with one taking place at an AMC movie theater in Braintree at around 6:00 P.M. and the other at a McDonald’s in Plymouth.

The victims, including four girls between the ages of 9 and 17, involved suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect fled in a black SUV and was taken into custody in Sandwich after a car chase with police.

Police say there is no active threat to the public.

After the stabbing, the man reportedly ran out of the theater and drove away in an SUV. Video surveillance of the man's vehicle captured the license plate and helped officers look for it.

According to authorities, the man was then involved in another stabbing at a McDonald's at a Park and Ride in Plymouth, Mass. shortly after. A 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Massachusetts State Police later found the man's vehicle in Sandwich, Mass. When troopers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the man allegedly failed to stop.

Authorities said the man led troopers on a car chase and it ended in a fiery crash. The man was taken to the hospital to be treated. The extent of his injuries are unclear at this time.

Connecticut State Police and Massachusetts State Police have not released the suspect's identity.
