Jeez, this MVIS...  I finally broke down and sold a little bit at 3.65 earlier this morning and now it looks like it might keep climbing.  I put in another order to sell more at 3.92 just in case, but I have a sinking feeling that I'm screwing up.  I dunno, but stonks gotta come back down at some point too, right?

Buy MVIS, and one other stock that does down when it goes up, but not as much.

This volume is amazing. Triple witching, front-running or euphoria?

Read this morning we're still over 12% short, which sort of makes me believe this isn't front running. No idea why, but the shorts have always been in control on this share, and it's difficult to believe that's changed. Somebody borrowed 300K shares this morning...you don't do that on a guess

I'd love to be wrong. Almost any announcement right now would be a bloodbath.

I think we're all confused

Someone paid me $1 / share on 30,000 shares (300 Put contracts) for the option to sell me the shares for $3 on Dec 18th.

I can cover those same contracts this morning for $0.075 / share. By the 18th, if the share price is > $3, the contracts expire and I keep the entire $1 / share,  or $30,000.

There is one exception to that last part, but it would still be a bloodbath for the shorts.

I believe it's front running. I don't necessarily believe that the next announcement will be "We reached a deal!" but I think they're very close.

Congrats Layer60, glad to see you doing so well.

There are (at least) two guys on this board who are approaching seven figures this morning...if they're not already over.

I have a 10K sell order in at $4.00, and I'm seriously thinking about pulling it.

Fuck me, over 17M 18.5M shares traded in under two hours. If this is just euphoria, the market really is unbalanced.

I'm starting to wonder if it's front running as well. This ain't natural for a Tuesday morning three days prior to witching.

We're inching closer to the $4 mark, better make up your mind @Osprey61 .

I wish they would announce something. Based off of the valuation of the other LIDAR companies, the perception is that MVIS is losing the LIDAR war. I'm to believe that MVIS has a superior product, why isn't Sharma screaming that shit from the rooftops?

WTF??? The California Retirement System bought 270K shares this morning. Okay, that's it, I'm officially petrified.

Also, traditionally institutions like that don't go in until the $5 level. Wonder what prompted that move.

Yep, the quiet is actually kind of reassuring to me. If Sharma was carnival barking I'd be a lot less confident.

Wonder if Ford is going to take the LIDAR vertical off the table? They have an ad up on BrassRing for an AV "partner" specialist, or some such title.

front running - someone who KNOWS that a deal is imminent tells a friend who tells a friend who tells a friend and they all start quietly buying up stock.  Quiet doesn't last and price starts quickly ascending.

Witching - last hour of trading on the day when options expire and folks are moving to close them out, either buying or selling large blocks

Microsoft (the people selling H2 with MVIS inside) advanced MVIS $10M on that contract. MVIS has to "pay back" that money out of what they're getting in royalties before they see a dime in "profit".

Still a good ways off...like $8.5M or so. The IVAS (that's the mil acronym for H2) budget that looks set to go through is about $960M for 2021, and over a billion in 2022, so we got that going for us. Microsoft has to watch the bidding for the NED very closely - not sure how long the contract extends, but if they haven't found a better light engine by that point (and the optical engineers say a better mouse trap is still several years off) a competitor could seriously step on their neck.

Twenty-five million shares. Gonna be very interesting when Wall and Broad gets back from lunch in another hour or so.

The California Retirement thing has me intrigued. Silicon Valley, and the tech monsters, are right there...if someone is going to cheat "for the greater good" (i.e., to protect their wife's teachers retirement) that's an ideal spot for it to happen.

That kind of 'tute doesn't do a lot of wild speculating, as a general rule. They're more the dividend paying, Proctor and Gamble kind of people. Unless of course they're absolutely retched with money and extremely reckless. Oh yea, that's right...the California Public Employees Retirement System.

They could always have a small percentage set aside for speculating or higher-risk stuff.  But that does seem like an odd place for a big buy to come from.

Yep, it's a perfect illustration of the "indians gathering firewood" circular flow when it's based on no external news. And this morning, to the best of my knowledge, nothing has changed. That's why the CPERS (Cali) buy fascinates me. Hell of a roll of the bones for people who are supposed to be conservatively curating money.

One of the TA gurus on Reddit is warning everyone short interest is still above 12% (that's 12% of the entire float - over one tenth of all the existing shares), and somebody borrowed like 700K shares a little while ago. This will dip on no news, so it's not a bad point to take some profit if you're so inclined.

Never hit my sell point, so I'll probably stand pat, but I'm mostly playing with free money (ACB still sub-one dollar).
