Little League Baseball was a sleeper hit as far as I'm concerned.

All of us neighborhood kids played the hell out of that game on rainy days where we couldn't be outside playing wiffle ball in the streets/peoples yards.

Bought it blind on clearance at a local Hills. Became my favorite NES game. Plenty of others I love but not like this one. Simons quest is a close second.

Castlevania II: Simon's Quest is outstanding.  I recently replayed the whole thing on Nintendo Switch with my 9 year old, he loved it.

There is a version of this game that fixes all the annoying issues with the original and changes a lot of the clues to make sense.

EDIT: Castlevania II - Simon's Quest Re-translation is what it is called.  https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1032/

Ranked
1. Dragon warrior 4
2. Dragon Warrior 2
3. Dragon Warrior 3
4. Dragon warrior 1

I still play d.w. 4 every few years. I am amazed the save game function still works.
