I thought the Cali folks would know.
I want to get a Walther PPQ 22 here in Illinois. It’s got a threaded barrel that makes it an assault weapon in Illinois. Can anyone recommend an FFL that could remove them? They are under the slide, so silver solder would be good. I also need to get the thumb hole cover installed on a SL8 CA edition so it’s legal here. Doing so would make it legal in Illinois. |

Sacramento Black rifle has a Boise ID store that does compliance stuff. You might be able to ask him. There is a guy in AZ that for sure does it, but his name escapes me right now, he posts a lot on CalGuns but I cant seem to ever get that site to work anymore.

You're looking for an intermediary or transfer compliance dealer.
Some searches found: https://wbtguns.com/california-middle-man-transfers/ https://www.newfrontierarmory.com/california-middle-man-service I have no experience with either. ADCO Firearms is AR-15 centric, but they do good work and offer some general gunsmithing services, so if they can work for you needs I'd recommend them. I have had work done by them in the past. |
