If that's how you feel I probably shouldn't tell you that I have a vintage Redfield Accurange scope (black, still correct but not as desirable as green) with vintage parkerized base and rings.

Why would you take a beautifully done commemorative rifle and do that to it? That was a nice rifle.

Why? Because it's his and what he wanted. Is that not good enough for the internet any more? Tough crowd. Nice rifle man, and nice work. I love the paint job

Thanks, my fiancée and I painted it together last week. The cans were in my hand but I took her artistic direction. I know I invite criticism when I tell people what it is but whatever, it's their problem. My dad's one of the most anal old gun collectors of all time, he can look at a pre-'64 Model 70 and probably tell you what day it was made, he gave it to me for a graduation present after college and he thinks what I've done so far is awesome, that's all the more approval I need. It's not permanently altered and not many people have a factory Remington receiver that is "US" marked and can take a Badger M40A3 base

Thanks...I didn't mean for my reaction to be as harsh as it sounded. You did a nice job on the rifle, I guess I was just a little shocked that someone would do that to what -in my opinion- was already a beautiful rifle.
Wanna sell the stock?

I'm keeping it for now and if I do sell it I have a short list of people already wanting it. Like I said, everything is reversible at this point so I'm keeping it all on hand, including the original box, but if, someday, I decide to go for the more modern M40A1/A3/A5 variant and re-barrel the rifle, I may sell the walnut stock.

Taking it out later today to try to shoot some groups. The trigger, although very crisp, was around 5 1/2 pounds from the factory (my gauge only goes to 5 so I'm guessing on that last bit) but I still managed to shoot a roughly MOA-sized 10-shot group at 100 yards. I brought it down to exactly 2 1/2 pounds and have a couple boxes of FGMM 168gr SMK and some hand loaded 168gr A-Max. I'll see how it goes!

This is a 223 AI the barrel is on it way back not enough threads to accommodate recoil lug and barrel nut when setting head space. My fault I did not tell them it was an enlarged recoil Lug.

Maybe a first for the site....no toes, no stray cats...just an inquisitive guinea pig

Rifle is a British Made, BMS ARMS, 5.56x45, CAM (this specific model is also known as the POL-CAM, as it was aimed at possible Police buyers)

Used AR15 magazines (the two 20-rd ones that came with it are marked BMS CAM), plus it uses normal AR15 series barrels...so can be easily repaired/upgraded as needed.
Has a VERY smooth trigger pull.

Now I need to decide what scope to put on it & get out to the range!

...will add better photos later

I have a carbine version of this too, but it needs some TLC as Bubba did gone fixed it up...(trigger blade replaced by a bent allen key!! FFS...)

I have a carbine version of this too, but it needs some TLC as Bubba did gone fixed it up...(trigger blade replaced by a bent allen key!! FFS...)

Ooooooh.

This may be a new answer to the "Bolt Action AR" questions in AR Discussions.

That's a cool rifle!  What do you do for the gas port in the barrel?

Check out either TacOps/Tactical Operations, or Triad Tactical.

I may be wrong but it looks just like my Eagle Industries pack I bought somewhere around 2001.

Savage 10 Precision Carbine in .308 with Vortex PST 4-16x50 FFP MIL/MIL and Seekins 20MOA Base and Rings. I LOVE this rifle! It doesn't get babied. I've taken it out West hunting and it's my dedicated deer rifle. I also need to start reloading so I can get better groups.
