Here are some pics of the storage compartment.

The area under the buffer tube is hollow all the way to the lower receiver.

Sweet, thanks... I think it might just be big enough

Nothin like having a pistol in the buttstock of your rifle...

Picked one up this past weekend at the gun show. I was waiting for this and almost went with an A2. It was worth the wait.

The rear door is solid. Gives nice cheek weld. The spring noise I had with other A2 stocks is less noticeable.

If/when I build another SPR, I would not hesitate to buy again.

Will a 20 round mag fit  in the storage space? Probably not but it  looks pretty big.

No, the storage area will not hold any magazines.

Very happy with mine.  Big improvement over the A1 stock I have been using for years.

What rail size are you using on the bottom?

This thing is really nice. It's thick, you can't flex the side with your finger, and weights a little more than I thought it would. Love it.

Quick question though; should it have come with one swivel insert? I've got nothing, and I triple checked the packaging.

Just installed one for a friend of mine and was impressed by the stock . Had this been out earlier I probably wouldn't have 3 PRS's . Have another friend who preordered one in OD green. Hopefully he will not have to wait long .

Nope, no QD included which makes sense as there are going to be plenty of people who don't want to use them.  Personally, I like the QD mounted towards the rear location.  However, I hate paying for things that area included as "extras", so I can see why Magpul doesn't do it.

Doe anyone know of a stocking dealer for a Magpul type 1 sling mount kit as needed for this stock?  I don't think a type 2 kit will work unless it is being added to a type 1?

Thanks

About the same weight as A2 stock.  Feels 100% more substantial than A2 stock.  Rubber shoulder pad and angle is better for me.  Storage compartment about the same size, but opening  the storage door is much easier that A2.  5 minute install and you do not need the spacer or screw from A2 stock.  Included in box:  Stock, screw, directions (lol not needed), sticker, products poster.

Ok, so just to be clear, you can buy/there is a place, for a socket, at the front of the stock???

Thanks, L2B

Edit:  Just found it on Magpul's site.

has anyone actually used this stock yet? I'd really like to know how it does in dynamic shooting

seems like the LOP is too long really - 12.5" LOP is where it's at for stand-up work if you ask me

Define "dynamic" shooting.

Adjustable stocks exist because not everyone is the same size and some people wear body armor when they employ their carbines.

Three gun is pretty dynamic and tons of those guys are rocking rifle length, non adjustable stocks.

To each their own dictated by application.

jesus christ dude STFU

what I mean is:

how does it do when standing up, moving around, and transitioning between multiple targets?

that is what dynamic shooting means to me, and to everyone as far as I know

an A2 stock is absolutely miserable to me and every other serious shooter I know when shooting in any other position than prone

Its a stock. not superman underoos

I laugh my ass off everytime I see someone being tacticool at the range.
I saw a pic the other day of someone sitting with both feet in front of the one foot balenced on the other rifle on toes,
my first thought was I wonder if he realizes that he has placed himself in a position thats hard to recover from.
Kneeling would of been as accurate (maybe more) and allow for recovery by placing heel on stock on ground and standing

This thread made me decide to build my spare lower receiver into a 20" rifle with one of these as the stock.

So... I guess... ditto.

magpul has said it will release it soon, this is usually the case with all their products, black first, then the other colors a month or 2 later, im patiently waiting on FDE as well

Wish this stock was shorter, atleast A1 length.... if they come out with a shorter model I'll be all over it.  Overall it looks good.

I love mine. I ve had everything from PRS multiple collapsible stocks and prefer this. Cheek weld and everything feels better.  And I believe it is a1 length.  I believe it was a tad shorter than my PRS when side by side. Don't have the PRS or a1 anymore to compare.

Kinda hard to fit a shorter stock body on a rifle length RE... just sayin'.

But... with just little work they could make two versions.

A UBR tube could be used, with an A2 type tube extension- short tube, small extension, carbine buffer...

I've already bought one fixed MOE and I love it, but I'm still holding out for a "short" MOE... even if I had to buy a "kit" and it cost more...

I wouldn't be surprised if they do this eventually.  Back when the fixed MOE was announced there was another future model inadvertently mentioned that sounded like it might be a carbine length fixed.  Never confirmed by Magpul, of course.
