Given the popularity of dpmmn's "Ammo Whore" thread...
LINK I thought I'd take the liberty to start a "Mag Whore" thread. Let's see 'em!! |
I have approx 30,000 M13 links, does that count?
And no... I'm not gonna spread 'm all out and take pics |
I had about 90 of them at one point, but decided to sell them off to fund another rifle. I think i made the right choice.
I now have 17 mags only and feel a little short, but at least I have 3 rifles. My mag numbers will increase soon. probably some Pmags |
I currently have:
17 D&H mags (7 are marked DSG) 12 NHMTG mags 4 Bushmaster mags (they're fairly new and probably made by C Products) All of which are gray 30-rounders. ... and 10 more gray D&H mags and my very first P-Mag (in black) coming soon in the mail from Bravo Company. >edit< Ordered three more black P-Mags last night. >edit< Just got five stainless steel CProducts mags in the mail today. |
I have exactly 100 30round USGI aluminum mags, 2 USGI 20 rounders and 1 Beta..

I have right around a hundred 30 rounders, give or take a mag. Most are Okay, Center, C Products, and D&H. I also have about 15 USGI straight 20 rounders. I currently have 5 AR rifles and carbines. I generally try to keep at least 20 mags per rifle. So I am above my own minimum requirement right now. I also hope to add a couple more ARs and about 50-100 more USGI 30 rounders to the stash this year.
Man! You want to see mag and ammo ho's, you've come to the right place. I don't have a pic of my mag stash at he moment, but I have about 200 magazines counting all my guns. Probably about 60 for the AR, including Nam-era 20-rounders (one marked '.223'), recent Teflon 20s, NOS G.I. 30s with updated followers and a few Colt 30s. I guess I need some of the newer Teflon 30s, but the old ones without it work fine. The magazine is a critical part of any auto-loading weapon, and without a working mag you're out of business, so I look at it like you can't have too many. After all, who knows when another ban might come along - the mags we have at that time may have to last basically forever.

I currently have about 100 AR15 mags w/ 10 PMAGS on the way. Mix of all kinds of "USGI" 20s & 30s . I traded away 20 awhile back for 2 Rock River stripped lowers. Seemed fair @ the time. I am well on my way to 400 (if not over) for all types of mags pistol/rifle. I even own 100+ mags for guns I don't own, yet.(Fal, HK91, M1 Carbine, & a Glock 20)
Just think how many more guns I could have if I didn't have so many mags. FB |
I' m in the same boat. I have 145 mags right now, and am currently trying to thin the heard to fund some other projects. |
I have 32 mags right now for the AR: 17 CProducts, 5 Magpuls, 5 Thermolds and 5 USGI surplus 20 rounders.
I'm marginally OCD about these, so I need 3 more CProducts because a number that isn't divisible by 5 drives me ape-sh!t batty. I plan on getting up to at least 50 by the next election. |
I have over 100 USGI 30 rnd mags and about 20 or 30 USGI 20 rnd mags and I plan on getting some of those nice new plastic mags I see everyone spoting now days Would get photos but most of them are stashed away in a foot locker right now.
I've got about 200 mags for guns I don't even own and got them 'just in case' I'll buy one some day. For the .223 AR15, I have 50 mags; and my current favorite is the curved 20rd Stoner mags because they're just so cute. I have an Excel spreadsheet that lists all the mags I own so I don't go crazy looking for them. And this spreadsheet also shows that all the mags are worth more than my car.

Fix't I'm feeling good at about 102 mags - none of them being plastic of any kind. I figure there's so much plastic in the world already that I don't need to also stick in the magwell. Hey OP: I have a leg up on you: I already authored a topic called "From Ammo Whorin' to Mag Whorin'" (can't find it now though). |

photo purposes only. First day they came out of the box. 99% of people won't notice, 99% of arfcom ppl do notice. haha. Trust they are no longer in the 2 round formation ;) g |
Yea my next collection photo will have some empties in it when my 50 OKAY'S show up (don't currently have enough ammo to fill them) along with the 10 more BDM 22 mags I ordered today |

You guys arent mag whores. Just ready for WAR!
hehe GET SOME ZOMBIES GET SOME!! |
Nice little family ya have there! |
Lots of nice mags.
Does anyone here have ammo on stripper clips and have charging tools ready to load. I keep most of my 30 AR mags empty (20 are still in the original clear packaging.) But I have about 350 round loaded on stripper clips. I keep 4 loaded mags for the AR. For the WASR I keep about 600 rounds on strippers and several loaded mags (4) at the ready. |
I have 2,000+ rds on stripper clips in 17 bando's, '50' 30rd GI mags. 6 Can. GI plastic 30 rd mags and '10' 20 rd GI mags. Do I need more?
I have 135 currently. I just sold 10 and am trying to thin the heard a little more to fund some other projects.
Just remember that magazines are disposable, and stock up
No pics from me yet, I'm still waiting to see some more before I post |
I've got about 45 mil spec 'beaters' and 16 mil specs that I've upgraded with CS springs, magpul followers and ranger plates or old school magpuls, 4 20 rounders and I recently picked up my first two PMAGS...it will be nothing but pmags from here on out!
ETA: I also have a metric shitload of strippers, chargers and bandos |
For immediate SHTF use, I keep 900 rnds on stripper clips.
I also have a dozen spoons. Once again I am pleased with my pmags; loading them with stripper clips & spoons is sooo smooth compared to Aluminum mags. |
I have 8 30 rounders loaded on my chest rig, 12 more loaded in a mag carrier shoulder bag. The rest I have empty in storage. A total of about 65 mags.
I will try to get a picture sometime. |
Put it this way, I have enough to give away a box of approx. 400 old USGI mags to a buddy today, had to make room for Pmags.
Can I be your buddy |
Pics or it didnt happen! |
Amen to that. I've seen some of your pics (mostly AK mags). You sir...are a man among little boys. |
I didn't post any pics of my 9mm mags for the Colt 9mm AR, or M14 mags or HK91 mags
