It's been a couple years since I did mine, but I seem to remember $75 as being a number.

Its about time. Prepare to want a block 2 10.3 in no time.

T1 will work. Although  it would make it technically more of a block 1.5 CQBR, depending on your other accessories of course

Oh plans are in the making for a 1 as well don't worry, I just decided today was the day for a mod 0 with a fucking brace for a couple months. M3x incan and a T1 with a NT4 will go on this dude for a while. I'll also do the block 3 in no time soon as preorder is up

Nice that matches block 1.5 perfectly (T1, M3X, NT4)

Would be nice if the 10.3 URG-I deets were released sometime soon

Laid out all my accessories for the cqbr block 1/mk18 and m4. Got tired swappin accessories around so I got 2 of everything. Got a few things comin to finish the m4. Also got the start of a cqbr block 2 in the works. Curious if anyone has any pics of the larue lt15-9 on a cqbr? I know there are some in the thread but 900+ pages is a lot to skim through. Also curious what anyone thinks of the peq-5? I found one for sale and since it has a visible laser I would actually use it. Not lookin to get into night vision anytime soon due to $.

I put this upper together today.  I want to stick with the Eotech, but I’m digging the Nightforce too.  May just keep both and switch back and forth.

I ran a nf 2.5-10x32 on my m4a1 for a while and was a big fan.

took my fresh built cqbr out today and got damn it shot good. Much better accuracy out of my colt barrel than my dd. Plus the .070 port is nice. The insert I had in my dd shot just as soft but had major gas leak at the block, got the black thumb lol.

Ended up up with the 553 on it though, just seems right. Scar can wear the elcan when it gets rebuilt.

Vanguard 6 group, I also tried researching them with no luck. I bought the light used and this was included so I just roll with it. The iwc mil 620 is a great mount for 620 lights if you want an offset option.

Well, after following this thread for a few days I decided I had to have more mk18 in my life. Ordered the dd mk18 upper. Hopefully it's a normal sized gas port. Is the surefire socom rc2 acceptable? Hope so, because I ordered that too I'll still need a muzzle device but I have a spare colt bcg and ch.

Hey, new to this clone game but looking to build one up here in the North.  Figured the MK18 would be a good place to start out.  Been creeping through the older pages looking at the detailed knowledge you guys have amassed on the gun.  Anybody know (Combat Diver probably does) if the MK18 or early CBR's suffered the same issues with burning out barrels as early M4's that lead to the SOCOM Profile?  Is the SOCOM profile put into the 10.3"s now as well?  If so is there a good place/manufacturer to source 'em from?

SOCOM barrels weren't designed to replace the Govt profile for burning out (all erode).  It was developed for longer full auto fire ie Heat build up before cook off.  The SOCOM 10.3" just started arriving in the last few months.  Only a handful out of thousands have them installed so far.  ADCO would be my recommendation for cutting either profile down 14.5"/16" to 10.3"

This is a Colt SOCOM cut to "10.3" and gas port opened to .070 by ADCO.  Runs like a top.  The only thing (and ADCO mentions this on their website) is that they cut to nominal lengths.  Mine actually measures 10.45" bolt face to muzzle.  If you're a stickler, take their advice and mark where you want it cut to.

Apologies, that is what I meant about the barrels, wearing out the heat treat from continuous FA fire.  ADCO cut downs are the way to go then?  Have to look into having them cut a barrel and then have it imported to me in Canada.

Interesting.  Not too worried about it being exactly 100% 10.3"  More concerned about how I'd get a barrel sent to them and then to me in Canada.

Anyone have any pics of Intelligence Support Activity guns? I asked in one of the FB groups, but didn't get any responses, and even if I saw a pic online, I wouldn't be able to tell if it was ISA or not. Usually just get pics of 1st SFOD-D and DEVGRU (or are they called TACDEVRON now?).

Anyway, I imagine they'd be using 416's, but I believe it was mentioned a while back that they're kosher in here.

Did a little shooting and exploring for a new jackrabbit hunting spot yesterday. Hoped to maybe luck into a coyote as well, but all I saw was a grand total of two jackrabbits in really thick cover and didn't even get off a shot, heh. I went :\ and did a little shooting instead.

Looks like you had a less stressful day than I did. Wife’s water broke last night and I’ve been stuck in the hospital (emergency C section) baby seems to be doing ok Except some under developed lung issues due to being premature. Wife was in excruciating pain during C, good lord could I go for a range
session lol.

Anyways to keep it on topic, I’m trying to decide if I want to throw my A.R.M.S # 17 mount on my M600C.....I love how light this damn thing is with the stock mount, but just not sure on the thumbscrew mount and if it’ll stay secured. I do also have that offset Gear Sector mount Stevie sent me but since I’ll be using a tape switch I’m not sure there would be too much benefit to offset for me.....decisions decisions lol

Damn look what yall made me do! I've been lurking around and finally got through all 9 hundred something odd pages and I think several title changes later
I spent waayyyyy too many drunken nights browsing here and on the EE and this is what I ended up with....so far

DDMK18 Specs:
Finally got the stamp in last month.
Came with the ass gaping port barrel ; contacted DD about replacing it while it's brand new and got denied. I guess this barrel is gonna be for sale soon on the EE.
I sourced a couple of the "contract overruns" DD 10.3" barrel with 0.070" port. This was way before DD started changing the port size back down to proper specs.
Had a SF4P but sold it and installed a SF3P. Oh well. Also have a SFCT standing by.
I'm swapping the receiver for one with a toned down DD logo when it gets here.
I ditched the DD factory furniture and installed a B5 Sopmod, modified A2 grip, standard trigger guard, and TD stubby.
Geissele trigger (forgot which one)
Ambi safety
Gas Buster CH
KAC sights
Eotech EXPS3-0
Surefire M300c
Surefire RC2 suppressor in black (the only thing my dealer had on hand). I sprayed it tan and gold/bronze to try and match the factory colors. I know it's gonna burn off but oh well. I used the tan Warden for reference, and by the way, just for kicks I found out the locking collars are interchangeable (dimensional wise). The Warden collar has a shallow circle milled next to the push button, that's the only cosmetic difference I can tell. Don't worry I swapped it back

M4A1 80% CQBR Block II Specs (Work In Progress):
US .gov M4A1 engraved 80%, though I went with my own unique SN for personalization, and also my Trust. Gotta get a new jig (sold my 5D jig) and wait for some good weather to mill this out. Need to find a place that will anodize it, and if all goes well send in my F1 papers. Might run it as a pistol until approved or just test the upper on the DDMK18 lower.
Colt BCG
Colt Receiver
Colt barrel, chopped by ADCO.
Shaved factory pinned FSB. Contemplating if I should get a DD gas block for correctness sake!
DD MK18 RIS FDE. I went through a couple of these but saved this older style one because of the brighter anodizing it had.
SF4P
ATPIAL-C
WMX200. Waiting for my dual pressure switch to come in.
I plan to throw on another B5 Sopmod, TD QD stubby, another EXPS3-0, Geissele SSA-E
Need to source a set of CQD mounts. All my other rifles run QD swivels.
Also needs a Colt Ambi safety or similar.
Gonna pull the trigger and get the proper tan Surefire RC suppressor once I figure out the whole process of ordering it online and having it sent to my dealer.
Once it's done I'll be sure to dress it nicely with some crappy looking paint . I cannot wait for this day to come, but it's gonna be a long while! I don't care if "Block III" specs comes out; I'm determined to finish this project and hang onto it.

Looks awesome dude

If you read all 900 pages and didn’t run for the hills, I’m pretty sure you’re one of us. As you know, we have some serious mental issues.
Welcome to the club.

Well, holy hell... sounds like you had quite a day. Glad to hear everything turned out well and that baby and wife are doing alright. Congratulations on the little Milspec clonelet!

I wouldn't put the bigass ARMS on it. I'm running a pressure switch and still going to go with a GS offset just because it tucks it in a little more. Not something needed by any means, but not a bad thing, either. The GS is definitely more robust/secure than the stock mount, but they both need a little Loctite - the SF stock mount especially. Those stock mounts are super bad about vibrating loose. I didn't bother to Loctite mine for the time being while waiting on the GS mount and it usually needs tightening every a few hundred rounds. I'd go with either the stock or GS - whichever you think looks better - and give a good dose of blue Loctite.

Congrats again!

I probably will end up putting the G.S. back on eventually then. He already had the G.S. Installed when I got it but stupid me had to loctite the stock mount on (just the mount to light attachment screws, didn’t loctite the thumb nut) but I did torque down the thumb but a bit with the top arm of a set of fingernail clippers. Just not sure I could bring myself to trust it without running a dummy cord like the old days tho, he’ll maybe I’ll do that for the time being.

Thanks for the congrats brother! I just went in and saw her, pulse is perfect, amount of O2 the CPAP is giving her is perfect, but her breaths are super sporadic and blood sugar is low. So I’ll know more tomorrow. Anyways I guess I know who owns my second CQBR now, and it ain’t me

Thanks again brother

Well, let baby Milspec know the clone thread is pulling for her! I'm betting she just needs a little time to get her sea legs; she'll be up and running you ragged in no time, lol.

I'd probably go with the GS myself - just feels like a more solid mount not even counting the offset making for a slightly more streamlined setup. But, I've also used the stock mount with Loctite on the thumbscrew without issue.

Speaking of Scout mounts, I never did hear back from the site I originally ordered that regular FDE GS from - it's been more than a week since they were supposed to get back to me :\. So, I went ahead and ordered a slim GS mount in FDE from Brownells :D. And *drumroll*... it's backordered, too - lol. Be that as it may, I'm a lot more confident I'll actually get the fucking thing eventually from Brownells, heh. Besides, if I'm gonna be waiting, I'd rather wait on a fancy slim GS.

Brownell's can be kinda hit or miss with their back orders. I put my colt m4 carbine lower on back order prepared for a month or so wait, then I get a call from my ffl 5 days later and it's already there. Then I missed out the last time they had Wilcox mounts in, and those are still back-ordered. Hopefully the gs mount isn't as bad as the Wilcox back order. Those things should just be on indefinite back order with how quick they usually go. Found some in stock at tnvc but without all the discounts brownell's has available plus tnvc' some shipping, I think it was like $25 bucks more than I wanted to pay. If I can find some discounts at tnvc I may go ahead and do it.

Yup. Lmt L8A I believe. It's an a2 style sight similar to using a chopped carry handle. Mod 0 clone correct etc...

I believe all new Scout bodies and tail caps have a different thread spec than the old one. IIRC, new bodies can only use new tail caps but old bodies can use old or new tail caps.

Yeah, it really depends on the item. Most times they actually come in under their estimates for backorders in my experience, but occasionally not. I was waiting several months past the estimates when I ordered some flat magazine base plates for my USPC. Those Colt lowers were kind of unique in that it wasn't so much a normal inventory acquisition as it was "we can sell as many as you have" type thing. Brownells received several different batches throughout the sale - probably as fast as Colt could dig them up from the corners of warehouses/store rooms, lol. The GS slim mounts are stated up front to be "special order" and while I was slightly optimistic when it showed "in stock" in the cart, apparently are never in stock. The estimate is 5-8 weeks, so we'll see.

The Wilcox mounts actually used to be in stock fairly regularly - I think I saw them available in the spring/summer of 2017 pretty often. I should've picked one up when I had the chance. Unfortunately, I stuck a Larue LT150 on my Mod 0, because, like many decisions I made on the Mod 0 build, I didn't think being 100% correct was that big of deal at the time. Oh, how times change :\. The shame... THE SHAME!

If true, that would be confusing as fuck for the secondary market. Not sure about that, though; the UE-SR07 setup I ordered recently was still using the same old "M6XX" packaging. So, I don't know if it was new production or just something SF pulled from the warehouse. I guess SF could've used the old style packaging with a new tailcap. I could try one of my old clicky caps on the new M300 and see if it fits.

ETA: Just FYI, I did confirm that an old M300C clicky cap will fit and function on the new M300C.

ETA AGAIN: On the other hand, the new M600DF very likely won't work with older M600 accessories because of the need to accommodate 18650s. I'm relatively certain they would have to increase the OD/ID to make 18650s work. The standard Scout body would be quite thin if you bored it large enough for 18650s.  That might be the source of the confusion/rumors about the size/thread change and accessories no longer working.
