What's the correct front sling mount for a mk12 mod 1? KAC 98720 OR 98721?
|
|
|
Well, since were talking sling mounts now, what’s the correct way to mount a sling at the rear?

What are the correct butler cover sizes for the Vari-X III 3.5-10x40 - I'm getting conflicting info. Some sites say 14/25, other sites say 13/26 Maybe there is minor objective/bell size differences between the Vari-X III, MK4, and hunting model 3.5-10's?
Vari-X III owners help me out pls :) Actually I'd rather find some leupold plastic flip covers like the ones that came with the MK4 (not the Alumina's)... but can't find them anywhere. Maybe discontinued along with the scopes? |

Got a gas buster finally, the one I was waiting on still hasn't arrived, FedEx has no idea what happened to it, so I just bought another one - Brownells can track down the first one. Last item coming is a custom collar from Ron to get more than 3.5 turns. Will finalize scope/ring position this weekend with some range time and then it should be ready for paint. Might go with a more green theme this time vs Sand/Brown, haven't decided. Last time I tried a green theme it didn't work out so well lol... |

I don't have a Mk12 (recce crew checking in) but I want to say that this thread is one of my favorites to follow as y'all some cool dudes and know your shit.
Now for real talk-I need a recommendation for a scope mount, nothing clone kosher to worry about but I'm looking to replace my LT-104 (because reasons) with something similar. 1.5" or so in height and slightly cantilevered. QD isn't necessary. I like the Geissele mounts but it's a little too blingy and doesn't jive with my build. Any suggestions? |

What is the story on the B5 Sopmod Gen 1's... kosher substitute for an LMT Gen 1 or no? I've got a few LMT Gen 1's now, but they are getting hard to find...

Hey, maybe I missed it, but what was the recipe for the vinegar/salt solution for etching? Also, it was a 12V car charger correct? Thanks! |

Took the MK12 family to the range today to dial in the scopes, etc - it was a good day. Well, it started off bad, I also took my RPR 6.5C that I just put a Timney trigger in and was looking forward to trying it out, but left all my 6.5C ammo and mags on the workbench doh!. Oh well, it let me concentrate on the MK12's I'll just say :). The Holland is good to go, scary accurate Bison barrel right "out of the box" so to speak. Same for the WOA barrel in the Mod 0 - it was lightly used but also shoots great. Still waiting on the collar so mostly shot the Mod 0 sans-suppressor, but did throw it on the stock collar (3.5 turns) for a few shots just to see how it grouped/shifted. This is the one that needs paint so still deciding - might go green, might do something pale like the one Chenault just posted above.
The Mod 1 I was getting worried about, groups have been opening up the past few trips - it's and older rifle but unknown actual round count, and was dreading if the Douglas barrel was getting shot out. I took some MK262 today and the groups tightened right back up - so I guess it just didn't like that batch of 55gr - luckily it was the last of that case/batch. Also the NF 3.5-15 is stunning, I tell you stunning compared to both the Leupolds. It's like going from HD to 4K :). |

@tifosi If you use something like 1/2 cup of salt to 1 Quart of water or vinegar then you should be good. In my experience, it is not a very finicky mixture. You just want the salt to give the current something to travel through(at least that's my understanding of it). The battery charger that I use is set to 12V- 6A. Let me know if you have any further questions.
