Thinking of trying one out:  NF, Trijicon, Vortex, etc.

  • I am a poor, so I like the gen 1 PST, which is SFP, MRAD version.      you can still find them used.  Lightweight too, combine with an aero mount, very light package.
I also have a gen 2 OST which is FFP, which is nice, but heavy.  I use them both either at the low end or high end, so FFP is meaningless.  It's more expensive and heavier.  But, it is still a nice optic.

the arfcom elite will be along shortly to tell you it's nightforce or your funeral

Check out the GLX 2.5-10 or Helos 2-12.

The best scope in that range is likely the Leupold Mk5HD 2-10 or 3.6-18. Have and like both.

Yes, but it pops up regularly on the EE and other such platforms.

Really like the Vortex Viper Gen 2 2-10. Wide enough field of view on 2x that you really don't need another sight system for close stuff. All the weight is mainly in the eye piece so it balances over the grip mostly. Good glass and illumination. Turrets not terrible.

I like the Credo 2-10 for being simple and slim, but wish it had a side focus. I like the Credo 2.5-10 for being superb in low light, but I wish it had a side focus. I like the 2-12 Helos but wish the glass were a little nicer. I like the 2-12 Kentucky Long but wish the side parallax were a little coarser and that it were lighter. I like the 2.5-15 Credo but it’s bulky.

Pros and cons and all that.

Rumor is that they are replacing it next year with something similar but improved.

My favorite scope is my nightforce 2.5-10x28   It’s lightweight, compact and durable but not cheap.
