I got positive confirmation that they are just recycling leftover a3 m1 receivers.
It's not marked mp88 at all anywhere. It's not even marked 9mm on the receiver. The receivers actually say cal 223. So literally all it is is an A3 M1 receiver with a 9 mil kit installed and an stg77 optic. Edit note it is an STG 77 style receiver with the missing side rail and no holes for it but is marked A3 M1 not STG77. |

It IS an stg77 style receiver lacking the side rail. So that is something I guess.
However for me I don't consider that a plus. |

Allegedly it's coming.
With steyr I always say I'll believe it when I see it. If they don't get it out before the election, who knows... Still though I would rather have one of the 100% Austrian made ones with all the cool proof marks and the much nicer barrel. |
