Cool, I've got a lot of friends here that are huge into hog control and nightvision. I bet we know some of the same people.

There is a huge amount of info there.  Do you have have any specific questions? I will answer or ask the person they belong to.

What is the finish and how well does it work?  One of my biggest problems is how bad night vision helmets look through night vision.

The pouch has loops for a malice clip type PALs attachment.  On the Pro-Tech there are cable tied on through the helmet vent holes.  On the Ops-Core velcro was added to the pouch.

This is precisely why I haven't done a vid on this subject.....give 1,000 bits of detail, and the other 100,000+ are missing for someone.  A 3-4 hour documentary on NV helmet rigs would probably bore most folks into sleep.

ETA - My response may have sounded negative....if there are any particular questions, everyone here tries to help out, myself included, but it is difficult to effectively address something so general when there are a dozen+ popular helmets, 6-8 shroud types, 8-10 common mounts with multiple adjustments/features, 4-5 device interfaces at least....and this is simply limited to a PVS-14.

Man I so wish I would have started out with binos!  They make the world to round!!!

I used hot glue. It breaks up the outline pretty good and painted the helmet with some crylon and it made a big differance on the IR signature.

I am really debating a dual pvs14 setup. I don't like the monocular because it messes with my equilibrium a little bit. I am a hunter mainly and trying to cross a 5 foot wide 3 foot deep trench I have to cross to get to my stand seems like the Grand Canyon. Some depth perception would be greatly appreciated.

Of course all this depends on money and if tnvc keep coming out with shit, I will never be able to get what I want.

You could always sell your PVS-14 and pick up a dual MX-10160 based setup. Now that I have dual PVS-14's I tend to NEVER use the manual gain on the 14's now.

If you have the opportunity to try dual tubes firsthand before you buy, make full advantage of that.  Some folks actually prefer a monocular even if they can afford binos.

New paint job for the lid - and possibly the most ghetto dual-PVS-14 setup ever assembled.

This, of course, is not a permanent setup, but as murderman would say, "a full scale proof of concept mock-up" to see how dual '14s work for me personally, and in practice before I start dropping cash for a dual bridge mount.

Needless to say, it's not the most stable or durable mock-up, and the USGI J-Arm, not in the least bit designed for this kind of off-center load bearing flexes quite a bit.

Nevertheless - conclusions:

- I like it - and will continue to pursue a bridge mount solution that uses a Wilcox dovetail interface

- It's heavy (which was expected) - counterweight is an absolute necessity for comfort - anything I can do to shave ounces and/or fractions of ounces off a combined setup will be my goal

- If and when I go with an actual dual bridge - a good tethering system (while always necessary) will probably be even more critical

- Setting the initial focus is a bitch - and dual manual gain is mostly wasted - not the simplest of setups - but in mitigation - if you can set it right, you mostly don't have to mess with it too often afterwards

- I do not need "feature rich" to be happy

- Thanks to my (apparently) close-set eyes - the perfect IP distance for two monoculars for me is to actually have the monoculars physically touching - meaning I'm not in particularly dire need of a wide lateral adjustment range

Team Wendy EXFIL tactical bump helmet.
TVN/PVS-14 Pinnacle.
Matbock Tarsier Eclipse on the front and a Wilcox amber filter on the back.
Wilcox L4 G11 mount.
Princeton Tec switch.
The lanyard is shock cord, alse cord, a toaster cord lock and what's left of the Wilcox lanyard.
I originally planned to put a Torch Pro on the left side.
I think its a great light but it seemed a bit large and heavy for a helmet mount at first.  Now that I have worn it for several hours I may remount it and see if it helps balances the helmet.
I can't say enough about the tarsier eclipse. It's nice to be able to see what you're holding.

Managed to step up a smidge from the previous dual-PVS-14 setup

Courtesy of TheHorta allowing me to test out the MOD Armory dual mount -

I've also got an N-Vision standard dovetail interface "ring"-style bridge coming soon, which should allow me to do a good comparison of the "feature rich" premium model, and the "bare-bones" basic model and how they compare to one another.

Now to find a Wilcox G24 mount!

Just when we were getting used to your more "creative" mounts, you go and spoil it by using off-the-shelf parts.

I am guessing that you pulled the rear roll pin out of the Rhino II in order to put the AKA2 dovetail adapter on.
