Anyone know why the IDF changed from the textured pistol grip panels to the thicker grooved grip panels? Thx!

We would do well to ponder how we're going to spend that eternity, because eternity is a long time to be wrong.
The IDF grip panels were actually the original panels, just like the curved articulated charging handle. The other panels came about when they decided to offer a U.S. commercial model x95.

Research on this hasn't revealed much. All I know for certain is I haven't seen a photo of an IDF X95 that has the original cutlass grip w/the 'newer' grooved grips panels, only the checkered grip panels. By all means, please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken. Checkered grip panels: Checkered Grip Panels
