| I was at Shoe Carnival and tried on a few of each brand and they seemed pretty comfortable. The ones I am talking of are not really a dress shoe, but a casual leather shoe. Thought of trying these at work insted of tennis shoes which stain, and stink. I work on concrete floors. |

My Dad is a career airline pilot, and travels the world. He does a LOT of walking. He only buys Rockports. I would guess that a pair lasts him 2 years of daily use.
I have a pair of Doc Martens dress shoes that I bought brand new in 1997. I wore them occasionally for a few years, and now wear them about twice a week. I have never re-soled them, and they are extremely comfortable. So, for about $100 (probably a little more nowadays) I've had 13+ years of use and they still look awesome. I have had them polished every once in a while, and I have gone through several sets of laces. Truly an excellent shoe. HTH -Ed |

I wear the Rockports and I also have a pair of DM oxfords.
When I bought the DM's in London that style wasn't available here yet. They have a plain toe, no contrast stitching, and the air sole is neutrally colored. They are pretty formal looking, I've worn them as dress shoes. Doc's are fairly high quality but they are not "Hand-made in England" anymore. The Rockports are a good shoe. A little pricey so look for them on sale. They have a walker style that is very close to the more formal casual style but it has a beefier sole. I try to find the style that doesn't have logos on it. |

Yes, I wear them at work - very comfortable.
I buy mine from Cabela's, sometimes they have very good sales.... Cabelas Oxfords |
