Quoted: When an actor from the core cast gets MeTooed, and Amazon decides to end the story three seasons early, it's hard to carry on. But I'll give them this: the ending was rushed, but it wasn't a forced hack job like the end of the BSG reboot was. BSG, Firefly, and The Expanse are all among my favorite series. The only SW component consistently better was Andor. View Quote Think he was found innocent |

Nobody mentions it - but the scene with hot reporter Chick Monica Stewart returns to the Roci and was told it's too dangerous by the new XO guy. (Who himself had not yet actually gone through the gate), and her answer...

Absolutely amazing show, caused me to then read the books (all) after watching... now rewatching it with the Lady.
TV show Naomi... arrogant, selfish, shitty communicator, frequently betrays/endangers her crew/humanity... space that bitch! Book Naomi was amazing, brilliant, believably heroic, team player and frequently MVP. Loved the character! Books are worth the read. TV show is top 5 scifi ever for me... probably #2 after B5. |

Quoted: The novels are also worth a look. Though it does feel like they rushed to the ending there a bit. View Quote Seeing as how they got cancellable by scifi and picked back up by Amazon, i have no doubt they were already living on borrowed time. Its frankly amazing they avoided fireflys fate. |

They have midgets on the show? |

Season 1 and 2 are great TV...once you get to the giant orb it falls of a cliff into an unwatchable mess.
Strong female syndrome takes over about that time and the writers room turned into ..how to build a plot around their message. The female " minister" just became unbearable...why is she here? Oh, she can write a good speech and put the men in their place with her enlightened world view. |

I need to watch this. Does anyone know if it is streaming free anywhere?

It was overall really good. I binge watched the first 3 seasons right away. Then I slowly finished season 4. The final season took me a bit because I was losing interest. The final season definitely felt rushed. At least they were able to finish it up somewhat. Some shows get canceled and end and you never get to see anything again and it’s a big letdown….Kinda like stargate universe.

Season 4 was nothing but a 10-episode Star Trek away mission. That could have been better.
And yes, they rushed the ending. And yes, ANY other actress besides the one that played Naomi would have been better. Otherwise an outstanding series. |

Why do they insist on picking unattractive women for so many roles, Naomi and that woman that played Chani in Dune. Seriously, that's the best they can do?

I have a few issues with that fictional universe and The Belters are a big one. It doesn't make any sense to me that they are so fucking dumb. I suppose they need some faction to drive the plot forward by doing crazy things like trying to sneak through the Ring Gate and neither the Martians or the UN would ever be expected to make stupid mistakes... |

Game Of Throne series closer team apparently. Not quite that bad... not quite. They fucked up GoT series ending so bad I just dropped all interest. But I could rewatch the Expanse. Quoted: So...you haven't spent a whole lot of time in Africa I guess? People in places where being dumb will quickly kill you somehow make it to adulthood all the time...even though they are uneducated and often just plain dumb. View Quote No I haven't spent a lot of time in Africa. Or any time there. It just seems to me that Belters would have massive incentive to be as intelligent as possible given that they are literally surrounded at all times by sophisticated equipment and they would probably have access to considerable educational resources. Unless there's something somewhere I didn't read that said that the UN imposed restrictions on educating Belters akin to punishing people who taught slaves to read. African cultures are the product of their environment combined with a variety of other factors. Better culture would be a product of it's environment and in my view that environment. With a completely different set of priorities compared to Africa or North America for that matter would probably produce very alien varieties of humans. There's a few pretty serious plot holes in their reality like a lot of science fiction universes. One being that the United Nations seems to have been able to maintain an awful lot of power over the Belt despite practically everyone there hating their guts. Also! Don't mix up your focus drugs and your party ??. The Expanse: Interrogation scene but K. Lopez takes the wrong pill |

Quoted: "How about now, im free now" is the best line in in history View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Amos had so many good lines and scenes in the books too. "Yes, and our job is not to escalate that. Put all this shit away. Sidearms only. Bring clothes and sundries for us, any spare medical supplies for the colony. But that's it." "Later," Amos said, "when you're wishing we had this stuff, I am going to be merciless in my mockery. And then we'll die." "We don't want to get in a gunfight," Holden warned Amos as they began moving again. "Yeah," Amos said. "But if we're in one anyways, it'll be nice to have guns." From the short story The Churn that tells some of Amos's backstory: There was a long second where the five thugs stared at the knife on the floor at Amos's feet, and he stared back at them. The emptiness in his belly was gone. The hollow space behind his sternum, gone. His throat had stopped hurting. "Who's next?" he said, flexing his hands, his face in a grin he didn't know he had. They came in a rush. Amos spread his arms and welcomed them like long-lost lovers. |

My wife gave me a ration of shit every time I watched it, with the intro. She'd laugh and say "are you watching your Emo show again? Listen to that intro! Sheeiiitt". And then walk out of the room mocking'-singing it...
Which pissed me off and made me laugh at the same time. And then every time she'd enter the room it'd be a fucking Naomi scene. *Sigh* TBH - it was kinda EMO.... And Awesome! |
