That's what I was thinking.

I want to get a few of these (or similar) and somehow form them into double walled mugs with a friction fit travel lid.  I don't have the time to turn it into a business, but I just think it would be cool and would tend to piss of the OWS types.

ETA: Well, this picture is of blank shells, but the idea's the same.  Of course, I've never bothered to think of whether brass would be bad for you or react with coffee/tea/etc.

I really don't think that any SSteel mugs are made in the USA anymore. Go plastic and get a Tervis tumbler with a handle and travel lid.

Plastic makes coffee taste bad.

I used em for years with shit coffee and it didn't matter.
Once I started making good stuff, I noticed how badly the plastic skunks it.

Now I have stainless mugs.

Problem is, they still have plastic caps and so I have to go around all topless and shit.

I don't give a damn if it's Chinese, Vietmanese, or Portugese, someone PLEASE make me a goddamn stainless cap!

Yeah , but what does it hold ? 10 ounces ?
Even the big green china Stanley thermos' are STILL  $35-$45 . . . wtf ?? I dont care if it's got a lifetime warranty , I'm sick of sending money to fucking commies.

I was looking for another thermos and ended up settling for a chi-com one .

My Big Greenie was manufactured in TN.   It's been around awhile, at least 25 years, and has seen many a flightline.

I used to drive by the Thermos brand plant in Nashville.  That was a few years back.  It may be gone.

That wasn't for you, that was for gonzo.

I can comprehend what I read.

I don't think anyone makes SS drinkware in the US.  Apparently starbucks does sell korean SS mugs/tumblers.

Yeah, I don't really care.....blame the American companies for selling out, not China.   They will keep coffee hot 3x as long as a Stanley thermos...I use what works, and these beat the shit out of other thermoses.

Buy on of the chinese ones

Have a draftsman draw you a set of plans of it iaw ANSI 14.5

Find a local machineshop to fabricate it out 18-8 Stainless Steel (good luck finding a custom spin former - or affording a one off if you do)

Find an o ring or gasket

What has the world come to when we are reverse engineering Chinese technology?
