The knives, everyone loved. It’s the politics and business practices that people have a problem with. Not quite, the last benchmade I received, a gift from a friend for my birthday, post chopsaw. Looked like it was ground by someone with cerebral palsy having an epileptic seizure. There's no way it should have left the factory. My buddy didn't see it till I opened the gift and he was ashamed. He is also a knife guy. |

Something Civivi because they’re cheap so when I inevitably lose it, I’m not out a huge sum of money like when I lose a Benchmade (as I’ve done multiple times).

Yojimbo2 for most of my EDC needs, but PM2 when I’m in need of a general purpose knife. I have many samples of each - like they say, one is none and fourteen is one.

Severtech Knives, I have carried a Milled Bastard for a decade and a half and it has never failed me, and they do great service work.

My daily is a Kershaw Shallot with a CPM110V blade. I just replaced the torsion bar and it now snaps open just like when it was new.
However, I want a slightly larger knife with assisted opening. I've seen a few recommended here the past year or so, but the two I really liked were no longer in production. |

An old Kershaw Storm. I think it's discontinued now, but it's been my EDC folder for nearly 20 years.
I don't have a picture of it, here's one off the web. Attached File |

My current edc is a Microtech Socom Auto. I have carried Microtech since it replaced my MOD and Benchmade back in the 90s. Till I lost it and carried a Benchmade Autostriker for a bit till I could replace the sicom Auto when they released them again.

Kershaw Blur (about $70)
- grippy scales - reversible clip - wide clip, doesn't snag - speed assist opening - made in USA Kershaw Blur |

The thing about assisted opening is that today's knives are able to open just as fast, without having to meet resistance while closing the knife.
