Quoted: It seems silly to withhold cruise control on the base model. It's almost like it's out of spite View Quote It's pretty clear the XLT is the model they want to sell. I also would have gotten XL if it had cruise control, it should have been at least an option. I guess I will be going with the XLT, I guess I will at least get a couple nicer things. Fancier wheels, power locking tailgate, keypad, and bed storage compartment. |

View Quote Does the XLT have the keypad? I agree the XLT seems like the most sense but like I said earlier the closer it gets to Ranger pricing the less attractive it becomes to me. I’m not sure about the locking tailgate I guess that could be handy but it’s also another actuator to fail which seem more likely being it’s not inside the car. |

Also as with every vehicle manufacturer and especially domestics. I will wait several years for recalls and lawsuits for the bugs to be sorted out.

Article is a bit misleading. The Hundai does have a higher payload capacity - but it includes the passenger area. Its bed can only handle 660 lbs where the Ford can handle 1000lbs + in the bed. Motor Trend did a better comparison IMHO |

Serious must have feature. I'd take no other options but that if they offered it. Indeed. Just experienced it for the first time in a loaner car I had this week... it was great. Makes highway cruising so effortless. Sure, keep paying attention and all, but it is great not having to slow down and speed up... car just does it for you. Sadly it's pretty much only offered in fully loaded cars... which I'm not likely to buy (new at least) because they get stupid expensive for what they are. |

View Quote I bought my 2020 Ridgeline RTL-E for $39,500... it's top of the line. (There is the "Black Edition", which is just blacked out bits but all the same equipment). Pricing out a Maverick Lariat with the 2.0L EcoBoost and AWD comes out to $35,510. Not bad, but not $13K less. Having traded a 2017 Tacoma SR5 on the Ridgeline, my impression is that the RL is much more "luxurious", too. It's like the Lexus/Acura of midsize trucks. |

Not having cruise control on the base model is a real downer and a major fuckup by Ford. My Durango didn’t have cruise and the 50 mile trip to work got old real fast.

I ordered a new Maverick last Saturday. a loaded out Lariat, we'll see if it comes. The dealer said they were only to make 6.600 for the first batch--- whatever that means. This truck looks good on paper, [ I'm retired ] and will be a grocery-getter. I also just sold a 2021 Tundra for more than I paid for it..with 6,000 miles on it.

The option levels are super dumb. Was looking at one woth a hard bed cover for the wife as a commuter/grocery getter/Lowes and Home Depot garden supply vehicle. Looks like a Rav4 makes more sense and they don't nickel and dime you after you pay the Toyota tax.

The fact that Ford is beating Toyota and Honda to the hybrid pickup truck is surprising. I'm definitely interested in seeing how this thing does in the real world. Hopefully there's enough interest that they expand on the options for this thing. Making an AWD hybrid or single cab could be an option further down the line.

Why There’s No AWD Hybrid Version of the Small Truck — Yet
AWD is coming, they are still working out the details of mating it to their homegrown electric motor that debuts in the Maverick. Also, side note, the EcoBoost 2.0 either recommends or requires Premium fuel (not clear on the Ford website). Attached File |

The user's manual of the Focus ST mentioned it was something around 10hp between the two. |

Did you order it like you want it online and put in a debit card for a deposit? When it shows up do you still have to go through the big red numbers on a white paper game with the salesman and manager or is the price the price and that's it? |

Just watched TFL's youtube video on the truck.
For the question of ride height between 4x2 and 4x4 they had the specs in the video. 8.3" for the 4x2 and 8.6" for the 4x4. |
