Non Uniparty supporters have now realized that they are far from alone in their desires.   If Trump or Cruz prevail in the State primaries yet have the rug yanked out from under them at the convention, then you will see their supporters realize that a third party is the only way short of blood.

I suppose that if everyone that was afraid to vote 3P over the years actually voted 3P it would be quite an eye opener,   the uniparty counts on folks buying that a vote for 3P is a thrown away vote...

More like removing a roadblock. So long as the GOPe exists we will have no real conservative small government party. The tea party almost got going and then was coopted by the GOPe and turned into yet another marionette to make soothing noises for the tax cattle (us). So rather than keep playing their rigged game that you will never win he is saying "screw it, let's tear them down and start our own (unrigged) game."

I understand the sentiment, but that's the nuclear option.   That's not "danger close", that's "expend all remaining in my perimeter".

Trump is actually a nice halfway measure- takes a poke at the GOPe (who've proven, despite what we might like to think, that they're fine with losing an election) but doesn't burn the place to the ground.

As much as it pains me to admit it.

Nope, they will grumble and complain and pull the R lever no matter who the candidate ends up being.

Lol, not me.

If Orrin Hatch and Jason Chaffetz are challenged by any other conservative, I will not vote for them. They have "gone along" too many times with the democrats. Chaffetz signed on to the omnibus bill so he is never getting a vote from me ever again. He also was pushing for converting more BLM land into a national monument, which would eliminate hunting and ATV access.

As for the president in this coming election, I will vote for Cruz or Trump, or write in Cruz if neither of those are a choice.

Seriously, if the GOPe does what it wants and manages to kill off Cruz, Trump, Rubio etc and make Jeb the nominee, there will a general revolt, the GOP will cease to exist and Trump will run 3rd party.  Hilary is almost toast, I think The Bern wins the Dem nomination.

So I predict a three way race between RINO Jeb, Socialist Sanders, and crazy Trump.  I can't predict a winner there.

Sadly there's a very real possibility this is what we end up with this fall. I think the GOP/e will implode trying to push out Trump and Cruz while backing Bush. I think Trump eventually goes off the deep end with some ludicrous comments so outrageous, even his most die hard Kool-Aid drinkers start to pause. Clinton will get out due to legal or medical issues and we are left with commie freaking Sanders. I think he is just shrewd enough to set up Elizabeth Warren as his VP. That will secure a lot of the female vote and he will win the entire shebang with just a few electoral votes.

God help us if we get Sanders in the WH

Let's be realistic.
Unless a third party managed to win a majority in the House and the Senate as well as the presidency, any agenda other than the one promoted by the people who finance the campaigns of members of Congress wouldn't stand a chance.
The new party would have to contest and win nearly every Senate election over two cycles to gain effective control of the Senate ...

Years ago the AL Dems had a primary. They decided the winner had received (R) votes (you don't have to register (R) or (D)). They gave the election to their guy.

During the general election AL elected the first (R) governor since (R)econstruction.

It was the beginning of the demise of the Democrat party in this state.

You have no idea of the many ways which the Democrat party and the Republican party have worked together to entrench themselves in the political system.
No third party can overcome the built-in advantages.
No candidate or party which seriously challenges the status quo will ever be able to raise enough money to be competitive. The people who run the system will make certain of that. See for example, the treatment of "TEA party" groups who sought tax exempt status to enable them to raise money.

The Republican party isn't going anywhere no matter how the people who run the party manipulate the rules, no matter how they affect the outcome of the race for the nomination and no matter what the outcome of the general election.

So why don't you blame them.

Why don't I blame who?  For what?   Your imaginary Jeb/Soros/GOPe boogymen that you bring up in all these threads?
I'm not about to support another loser like McCain or Romney who will be forced on us. Let it burn.

Yes you are.  You're a Trump supporter.   Trump is just another liberal RINO who will lose to the Democrat -just like McCain, and just like Romney.

Cruz is just there to build up support and then endorse Jeb. They don't have to play tricks to keep him from being the nominee because he is in on it, just like huckabee in 08

They love their own Liberal RINOs.  It's an exclusive club.

The leadership inside the professional Republican party apparatus will never accept Donald Trump as the nominee. Period.

The North Carolina GOP Primary Ballot is yet another indication.   Never before in party political history has the North Carolina Republican Party given voters the option of “NO PREFERENCE“.

Where do the “no preference” votes/delegates go?  To the party leadership of course.  What will they do with them?  Give to the party candidate.

Also note the position of Donald Trump in relationship to Jeb Bush on the ballot.........

That bit had best be clearly explained or there will be lawsuits for fraud.

A very large portion of Americans still believe in what is known as 'fair play'.

The GOPe may wish to consider that.

Such a suit would probably not succeed.
First, that isn't fraud. Any delegate chosen because of "No Preference" votes would be free to make their own choice. Anyone choosing "No Preference" can hardly complain if the delegate makes up his or her mind and votes accordingly.
Second, even if it were fraud, courts are reluctant to interfere in the processes of political parties.
Third, unless the party rules are changed at the convention there may be more than a few delegates who were awarded to candidates based on vote totals who won't be bound to vote for those candidates, either because they have dropped out or because the rules restrict which candidates' names can be considered. That results from the interaction of state law and the party rules. That's not fraud either.
It may be the most interesting convention in decades!

No.

I can respect that.

I won't be doing that anymore.

Neither will I.  That's why I support Cruz.

I won't support someone who until recently supported banning Assault Weapons.  THAT is a compromise of one's principles.

Step One:  Elect Hillary Clinton to the Presidency

Step Two:  ?

Step Three:   Form a third party who represents us

So your plan is?

Support conservatives and work towards their election to office.

That's a great idea, Walter, if I understand it correctly. It's a Swiss fucking watch.

All the anger in the world is impotent without a leader and an organization.
.

You may very well be seeing the seeds being planted for such a thing...

We'll never learn.

That's why I have zero optimism for the 2016 election.

Why get all worked up when over 80% of the same shit will just get reelected?

We're done.
