Every food outlet on the walk will be overcrowded and overpriced.
Seriously consider eating off property.
That said, if you can swing it, the chocolate joint is decent food, stupid shakes, and fun.
Cowfish is good, if you can get in, as mentioned.
The one exception is Finnegan Irish pub inside the new York area of universal.
Best Irish food I've had, great service, and very reasonable, make reservations for as early as you can.
We ate lunch there every day last trip, and never got tired of it.
This time of year I'd consider getting the vip passes if you can once in the park.
We usually skip them for the "single rider" lines, but with kids that isn't an option.
Park hoppers let you ride the Harry Potter train between the two parks.
Knock turn alley is pretty much unmarked but a GREAT place to cool off and hang out for a sec to regroup, it's dark and air conditioned.
It's just inside the diagon alley entrance from the main park.
Other places to cool off are spider man, the mummy, and transformers.
Quite a few rides FORCE you to put everything you have in lockers, and I could barely fit an empty backpack in the new, smaller free ones,
A few used metal detectors to enforce the no loose stuff bit.
If you plan on taking stuff in, you're paying for a bigger locker, or someone isn't riding.
Best time to go is the week just after Thanksgiving, good luck right now.
Hope y'all enjoy it.
Eta, the velocicoaster rocks.
Do NOT skip it.
