Absolutely. In fact - though I truly hate to say it - MM has raised some important questions. Such as why gun violence in our country is so much greater than it is in nations with similar access to weaponry (aka Canada). It's his answers to the questions he raises that I can't stomach. It's almost as if he won't listen to himself. In 'Bowling for Columbine', the Canadian situation is something he wouldn't stop harping on.... "They have plenty of guns but don't go shooting each other like we do here." Not a direct quote but that was the jist of his argument. After some conjecture, he admits he doesn't know why this is so. But then the rest of the film goes on to push gun control 
Moore is no different than anyone else with an agenda. His goal is to support that agenda. And he'll use both facts, and lies, to do exactly that. He's not interested in evaluating the situation from an emotionally-detached viewpoint & coming up with a fix most likely to work. He's interested in disarming the American public, and he'll use whatever 'facts' he can to do so. So no - not everything that comes out of that fat fuck's mouth is inaccurate. But since we all know he's more interested in gun control than actual solutions that respect our constitution, his motivations can't be trusted. |

I remember on 9/11 his website immediately started spewing "we deserved it" and "it's our fault because we're all assholes", etc. His email box probably fireballed with outraged hate mail. This is why Michael Moore doesn't understand America or what it means to be American. The big difference between America and the rest of the world is that we take out our own trash and solve our own problems thanks to the legacy and values of our founding fathers. America was founded while slavery was still common. He forgets that slavery ended on our watch and by our own resolve as a result of values encompassed in the Declaration of Independence. Same goes for women's suffrage and the civil rights movement. Every step we have taken forward towards political equality has been on the shoulders of the giants that came before us. Every step was a distinctly American movement that did not require outside intervention. Contrast this with most other societies on this planet where outside intervention was required to end genocide and any other number of injustices. Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, Rwanda, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan...and the list could go on for ever. America has always been a work in progress but the values encompassed in our founding documents have stood the test of time and created a society that sorts it's own shit out. Fuck Michael Moore. |
