The Shooters World in the Villages is a well done indoor range even if it is a bit fuddy. 100 yards with Ac and good ventilation is the only way I can get my wife to go shooting.
Plenty of good restaurants, live music somewhere most nights, it's kept clean, and a pretty low level of DEI means virtually 0% chance of shootings at any public event. |

I was working at a hospital in NY City a while ago and spoke with a nurse that just moved from The Villages.
She couldn't wait to get out of there. Said widows would hit on her husband when they discovered he was still sexually active. Many people ride around in golf carts because they've had their licenses revoked for DUI convictions. Made the place sound like a bunch of 17 year old's in 75 year old bodies. |

I was down there driving north on I-75 toward Ocala. Local I was with said it's on both sides of the Interstate and still growing. Huge empty fields on the west side of the highway with about a dozen excavators plus dump trucks which will become another couple thousand homes.

When I worked LE it was no surprise to pick someone up on a warrant at 2 in the afternoon and my knocking on the door woke them up. Conversationally on the way to the court I’d ask them what they did for a living. 87% were on a disability racket....anxiety was the big one but it used to be bad backs. Oh and this was under 25 year olds more often. I always thought they’d be real Fn anxious for a job if the free money stopped flowing. There really needs to be a serious fraud enforcement arm. I have two social worker cousins who don’t get it. When you debate they always cite the single mom and old people have to be taken care of. Yea I kind of get that for the old, infirm, wheelchair bound but not some lazy ass that has an anxiety disorder because he doesn’t like to have a boss telling him to work. Let them be hungry. You better have a wheel chair to collect if you are under 40. |
