Quoted: I'm in south FL, semi-rural property. We never had fire ants in our yard until we had a particularly wet hurricane come through, lots of flooding. There were mounds of fire ants floating down the middle of the road, I'm talking 2ft x 2ft size. The ones on the bottom basically commit suicide for the nest. It was crazy looking. After a few run-ins with them in the yard, we went savage mode on them. We don't have them now... until the next flooding event. They definitely would leave blisters. View Quote I swear I have an ant hill every 5 yards in my pasture. I don’t think there’s shit I can do about them. I think redbugs are worse. |

No excuse for this nonsense and it’s even worse that they’re trying to cover up. View Quote Why? It's her fault for getting taken down in the ant bed. If she ran faster or bobed and weaved she may have missed the ant bed before the take down. Seriously though. They didn't pick to take her down in the ant bed. They didn't hold her down to torture her. She was on the ground 10 seconds. Considering what she did before being tackled most people would assume she was on drugs. So screaming she has ants on her may have been dismissed as crazy meth talk until they actually saw the ants. The full video will tell one way or the other and it's interesting her lawyer released such a short video. I'm going with $50-100k in screw off money and no punishment for the officers. |

Quoted: There's always the truth in the middle, but didn't like what I saw in her snippet, and reading she wasn't given treatment for days. Why was she still in jail at all? I've seen enough to say this shouldn't have happened the way it did. View Quote If a life threatening condition they usually get transferred to the local hospital with a deputy escort, if admitted, a 24/7 deputy security is required, sometimes a detentions bureau deputy is detailed to the hospital sometimes deputies do it as overtime (or comp time) on their scheduled days off. Routine or long term maintenance Rx required (example cardiac or diabetic Rx), there is a process they must follow to verify as legally prescribed medications, the inmate is charged for those medications, which are dispensed by throughout the day by the nursing staff (A ward nurse with a med cart does rounds throughout the various pods/wards/cell blocks. Its possible the jail nurse triaged her, administered care/medications authorized to her position, then put her on the list to be seen by an actual doctor, whom sees patients at the jail only certain days of the week. Sheriff would say she was given medical care, the lawyer will conflate treatment by a nurse as not being medical treatment since it wasn't done by a Doctor. (same thing the demmunists do constantly intentionally confusing right to medical care with medical insurance) |

I broke down on the side of the highway. While the wrecker was there, I walked around the back of the car, and up onto the embankment to spot the back end. I was standing on an ant hill. I had bites on both legs up past my knees.
Her case looks good. The cops should have at least helped her with the ants. The ants really tore her up, didn't they? Prolly got the cops as well. |

A lot of people surprised at the damage have probably misidentified previous stings from other species.
solenopsis invicta is the red imported fire ant (and they are EVERYWHERE around Houston) and their sting is absolutely nasty. I notice they coordinate too. I've been standing in a pasture before not realizing I was on a mound and they wait until they get pretty good coverage on you then begin stinging in unison vs just stinging right away, meaning you take way more stings before clearing them off of you. I've talked to others that have experienced this as well. |

Used to hear their calls all the time... View Quote I never saw a single quail in the greater Houston area but people that lived there back in the day told me they used to be numerous. I live in West Texas now and see quite a few scaled quail at least they don't seem to take over out here in the drier climates. Same goes for the Horned Toad and other native species that live/nest on the ground. Lots of old timers told me they saw lots of thigns in the 60s-80s they just don't see anymore due to the amount of fire ants. When I lived in DFW they are pretty plentiful up there also, but the gulf coast is really something else. They are from the tropics so I guess they thrive in the particularly moist areas. |

Santa Fe, TX was the scene of a massive school shooting in 2018. Asshole shooter is sitting in the looney bin as he is “incompetent to stand trial” but competent enough to kill 8 students and two teachers and set explosives.

So the first one releases, the ones around smell it and they do likewise . Not quite at speed Of sound but speed of smell. |

When I was a kid I was jumping my bike on a grass mound at a local park when I wrecked. I just lay there for a minute to try to catch my wind, when I felt a burning sensation.
I was wearing shorts, and I had landed with my leg in a fire ant pile. They fucked me up real good. The punishment for this should be jail time plus having their faces stuffed into fire ant mounds. |

A lot of people don't understand the relationship between ants and bees and wasps but there's a reason some of the toughest stinging insects are ants. I'm sure some people hive up worse than others too based on their allergy level, just like bee and wasp stings. I'm on the milder side personally, but I still get the blisters with white heads. They are just smaller and go away faster for me than most other people I've met. |
