30-30 and 45-70.
Could take anything with both. If I had to pick just one, it would be the 45-70. |

I see that. 450 Bushmaster has really taken off in popularity since it has been chambered in bolt action rifles.

Anything with Ackley or Weatherby in the caliber name.
For me: 30-06 30-30 44-40 |

30-30
.270 .22lr edit: The lot of you that have chosen three different centerfire rifles evidently don’t like small game. |

.300 H&H Magnum
.270 Winchester .257 Roberts .220 Swift I know it’s 4 but math is hard when you’re a Fudd. Not sure if any of these are “Fudd” but they don’t garner much attention in today’s 6.5 CM dominated world. |

30-30, .32 Win Spl, 30-06
I don't have any guns in. 270 or any other popular Fudd cartridges. I do enjoy lever guns. |

Quoted: I see people are still posting 45-70 and 30-06. Might as well round out the list of U.S. military cartridges entirely with .58 rimfire, 50-70, 6mm Lee, 30-03, etc. https://external-preview.redd.it/FlWfEg9W61v_akKpMyz7DdEqKbm_bF_BAM6YyhXr5xY.jpg?auto=webp&s=ef61c1aca79ef3688ba8557debbe9ac500a1e7a9 View Quote |

Well since I cant say 308 Win. since it's my main deer rifle I'll say my next 3 favorites
7mm-08 35Rem 300 WM |

For me it'd be one of the .33s for the first (such as .318 Westley-Richards or .338 Sabi).
Another would be 9.3X62. Third would be .460 G&A Magnum, with an honorable mention to the larger-caliber (but otherwise ballistically and dimensionally similar) .505 Burns. With a .33-cal., 9.3mm, and .45-.50 cal., plus the available military cartridges, shotguns, and rimfire, there's really not much of anything in the hunting realm that you can't do. The first two will fit in a standard action and have the same case head as the .30-06, .308, and most of the Mauser cartridges. |

Quoted: 7mm Remington Magnum is a heck of a cartridge and can still hold its own. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: 7mm Rem Mag is cool. The original juiced-up ,sub-.30 cal, ultra-flat-shooting cartridge (for its day, anyways) before trendy newer stuff like the 6.5 Creedmoor came around. Hornady Superformance in 7mm Rem Mag pushes a 139gr SST (ballistic coefficient of .486!) at 3240fps. That's fuckin' spicy. I'd probably ditch the belt and go with a 7mm Brenneke if I wanted a 7 in the ballpark velocity-wise. Venerable old cartridge. |

It kills critters dead. |

When your shoot something with a STW it definitely knows it’s been shot… hell, you might be able to see daylight through the hole before the animal drops. The recoil isn’t what I’d recommend for your 12 year old daughter, though. |

450 Bushmaster and 30 Remington AR have been all I have used the past four or five years. AR Fudd calibers at their best.

.577 (rifled)
.54 (rifled) .36, .44, .56 generally. Everything else, is still pretty useful. |
