Hive mind, Got one for you. What can you use to bond Acrylic and PVC together? I've got an acrylic tube that I want to connect to another acrylic tube and was thinking of using a PVC union? Can I use the primer and solvent? JB Weld? Weldon? Thanks, eta: to fix typos |

Acrilic is a monomer that is produce when acetone cyanohydrin is heated with methanol and concentrated sulfuric acid. hichIf the adhesive has a ketone, ester, or chlorinated hydrocarbons it will attack the acrlic. Loctite has some adhesives that work pretty well. MEK works good under the right conditions. (good contact surfaces) You can get it at any harware. jb |
