Coach vs. Woody
Diane vs. Rebecca Who did you like better? |
|
It had a few very distinct "eras".
They were each good in their own way. I like watching the early seasons because everything feels so 80's, the style, lighting, aesthetic, it reminds me of the types of bars dad would take me too, and the wood panelled basement at my grandfather's house with the orange carpet. And Diane's wardrobe was very similar to how I remember my mom dressing when I was a kid (she would have been in college when the show first aired). Woody was funny as hell when he showed up. |
|
I had a love hate relationship with Cheers. On one hand I liked to watch it and my parents let me. On the other hand, when it ended, it was time to go to bed .

Coach and Rebecca. I enjoyed Coach’s cluelessness over Woody’s innocence, but they were both excellent and perfect fits in their own right.
Diane ruined my enjoyment of many episodes...plus I dated a girl like her so I get PTSD from reruns. |
|
Easy choice for me.
Woody Rebecca Coach was good though. But I strongly prefer the Rebecca days. Season 6 on for me. I felt like the rest of the cast and stories were funnier then too. |
|
They were all good, in my opinion. Rebecca was way hotter (at least back then) and Woody was funny too. There just were no bad seasons or eras with Cheers, in my opinion. I still miss the show. Some of them could be real tear jerkers.

Next we'll do M*A*S*H COs, since that came on right after Cheers (or was it the other way around?) |

Trivia question: What three characters were in every single episode of Cheers?

Cliff Clavins buffalo/ brain cell theory was hilarious.
Too bad the original clip is nowhere to be found on the net. |

Without using the Googles or the interwebs, what was Carla's daughter's name and which actress played the part?

Coach and Diane.
Woody was a good replacement though. I could never stand Rebecca. |

Something like Seraphiny? |

Diane with bigger boobs was my dream girl.
Coach over Woody. Obviously I vastly prefer the earlier episodes. |

Here's one. Without looking it up, who played Rebecca's sister and what was her name?

Marcia Cross and Kirstie Alley were fine as frog's hair in those days. I think Marcia still is, but Kirstie keeps eating everything in the refrigerator.

When Kirstie Allen came on the show I always knew she'd plump up later on. Damn sure if she didn't.
I've read that the whole cast hated Shelly Long. I know she was the only one to skip the Jay Leno show when he had the entire cast on for the final episode. Fittingly, they were all drunk too. Both Coach & Woody were funny. Woody had the hotter GF though. Her tits can be seen in Lethal Weapon, she's the hooker who jumps off the balcony. She was a hottie too. The episodes with Harry Anderson were the best ones, IMO. His character was really something else, IMO. I always thought/hoped Shelly Long was about 2-3 drinks away from being a freak in bed. Always loved the answers Norm gave when he was asked "How's it going, Norm?" Norm dialog: "Some guys have no life at all. Just the other day some guy sat next to me in here for six hours." Cheers was a no smoking bar too. |

I'm at the beginning of season 10.
Dianne over Rebecca. Both are miserable cunts but Rebecca is just flat out sad and annoying. Coach over Woody. Woody seems like the typical Hollywood everyone from fly over country is a dumbass. Do like Fraiser, that will be next to watch. Also Lilith can be pretty damn hot. Markie post was fucking smoking as was Marcia Cross. Edit: Also seems that Kirstie Alley was destined to blow up. Seemed skinny/fit at the beginning then started getting bigger (not fat by any means) during the later seasons. |

My dad wouldn't let us watch it. It was about people wasting their lives drinking in a bar.

Phone rings, Coach picks up then asks, "Is there an Ernie Pantusso here?"
Sam says, "That's you, Coach." Coach says into phone, "Speaking." Pepsi really stings when it comes out of your nose. |

Met George Wendt on a movie about in the 80's. After 14 or so hours of shooting, carrying a six pack of beer, he looked just like Norm.
Rebecca and Diane were both hot in their own ways, I just don't think Kirstie was acting very much. Woody went on to hunt Coach as a zombie. |
