I'm getting an additional 512 of ddr sdram.....the card I have is PC 2100. Does the PC 2100 matter or can I use PC XXX ?

You can use faster memory, but it will only operate at the same speed as the 2100

Also make sure you cross referance the numbers from the other one..  mixing different types of memory can cause some really wierd problems

technically you should run the fastest speed ram your system will support. that will be listed in the owners manual for the system board or if it's a name brand.... go to kingstons website and run the configuration program.

that said if you have one stick of pc2100 i'd match it with an equivilent dimm. the faster dimm will only run at the speed of the lowest dimm in the system.
