Well, honestly I have to admit that 50 cals will take down planes. I think all of the US fighter planes in WWII were armed with them. That said, also pretty sure there have been exactly -0- planes shot down in the US with shoulder fired 50bmgs.
But it makes sense - tyrants don't like an armed public. |

Great, now I have to go buy a .50
the federal government is my primary source of knowing what to buy these days. I just look at what they want to ban, and buy that. |

I wasn't even halfway through reading the thread title and my brain was already asking "why to they pretend to care about arming
cartels when they just let millions of people stream into the country, unvetted, unknown?" But we all know the answer to that. |

It's all about the money. Uncle Joe does not get a kickback unless we sell the 50s to the Mexican military to have them give them to the cartels.
After the Fast and Furious - it is an utter joke about killing domestic sales because the Cartel can get them. Honestly, I would love to know how much donation these 2 TX congressmen got from the Cartels - most likely the Cartels have put them up to write this shit. |

View Quote The actual text is even more retarded. This bans any rifle of .50 caliber so .50 Beowulf is banned as well. If you had a PCC in 50 AE (and typing that makes me want one) that'd be banned. BUT - the requirement is to be exactly .50 cal. 50bmg, for example, is .498 at the lands, .51 at the grooves and .51 bullet diameter. So does this legislation even cover it? Bigger than .50 is fine though, not covered by this legislation. You want a 20mm? No worries. |

Does it ban muzzle loaders over .50 - that is the vast majority of muzzle loader rifles sold in the US. They are not firearms, but they are rifles.
Does it ban 12 gauge rifles that can shoot 12 gauge slugs? They are ammunition over 50 caliber. How about shotguns that can accept a riffled choke? The text does use the word rifle. Does it mention it even has to be a long gun? Are they going to come after pistols labeled as 50AE or 50S&W. Ok Apparently this is safe, but they did want to add rifles to the multiple purchase reporting requirement. Lets be more constitutional about this - the only thing that needs to be banned is Politicians that violate their oath of office. They kill 1000x more people than privately owned BMG's |

so now a law banning certain firearms from law abiding citizens due to US criminal use isnt good enough, now they want to ban certain firearms because of what criminals do in mexico and south america.

Start by first ending all foreign military assistance by the US govt to mexico. Anything their military gets will eventually be delivered directly to the cartels
Kaybe someday a US president will invade mexico, push and relocate everyone within 100 miles of the border south, and build a new border fence there. It will be a huge depopulated nature preserve, monitored by drones and other electronic surveillance. Except for Baja California- just take that whole. |

Politicians arm our enemies every day, they don't care about cartels having .50's they have everything the Mexican military has.
Stop being obtuse, politicians are afraid of 50's being used against them; in Minecraft. It's about banning American civilians from owning 50's |

Buy what you can, while you can. You can always work a second job, do side gigs and earn a little extra cash to pay stuff down.
I saw this happen in Illinois, and told people to get whatever they could while it was still an option. Now we have a full awb and there is very little movement. Yes, court cases are pending, but we know how that goes. There are plenty who wish they could buy any number of ARs now. So if you think you might want one, buy now. |
