Alchemy Custom Weaponry. Get the Quantico if you want a rail, get the Prodigy Elite if you want a nice BBQ gun, the the regular Prodigy if you just want a nice old school 1911.
Some of the best and most fairly priced 1911s on the market. I have five of them now, fantastic semi-custom pistol. |

Quoted: Has to be 45acp has to be single stack hast to have a rail would like for it to have a threaded barrel but not a must I really like the FDE COLT RAIL GUN but the only one I can find on GB is 3700. That's seems like a lot for that gun. But it's in my price range. thanks for any suggestions and links View Quote Alchemy Quantico https://alchemy1911.com/product/quantico/ |

For a .45 single stack?
Wilson Guncrafter Nighthawk Ed Brown SACS Profeshunal Alchemy (are they still <$4k) I’ve always like the Les Baer HW Monoliths, but those aren’t quite in the $4k quality tier. Baers nice but not nearly on par with the above… |

Nope on a rope!
I’ve had several STIs, WCs and Colt Custom Shops as well as a Springfield Custom Shop… You know what gun I shot the best? A $650 XDm Elite OSP… Out of all of them. I was mostly disappointed in the WC…its fit was no way better than a Springfield TRP…to me. WC isn’t worth the coin… |

Look real hard at the 1911's offered by Rock River Arms....one very well made pistol. Baer quality at 1/2 the price. I bought a Basic Limited Match in 2001 and sold it about 10 years ago and still regret letting it go.

Rock River might be a few hundred less, depending on options but certainly not half the price. A Les Baer UTC list price is $2215, I've never seen Rock River's for $1100. A railed RRA 1911 starts at $2500, and you can add a ton of options to them (have to call sales), Les Baer doesn't even make a railed 1911 anymore and hasn't for a while from what I understand. OP, that Kimber is CRIMINALLY overpriced. Do not do it. Their street price is $1500 and they are still overpriced at $1500. |

Buy a $1200 1911, $500 worth of mags, mount an RMR and spend the rest on training and ammo.

For that money talk to one of the custom 1911 builders and have one built just the way you want it. You are in custom hand built by a guy money .

I’m not a fan of Wilson pistols anymore and never really was. Their prices on anything other than the low, low models are over blown, the finish sucks, they refuse to line up the ball cuts, and I’m told they are pretty much parts guns (the joy of modern manufacturing tolerances). Look for a 2015 or earlier used pistol.
Quoted: I’ve been lusting after the Quantico HiCap for over a year. I might sell some stuff to get one. View Quote It is a fucking fantastic pistol, makes my Staccato P (4.45) feel like a piece of shit, which it isn’t, the recoil is noticeable flatter. I will say that a.) order a 10-8 mag release, because as smooth as the ACW one is it is extended way the fuck out there. B.) If you plan on shooting it aggressively (classes, competition) and you live in a humid shithole, order a STI Gen1 grip module that is textured (extreme guns of however they spell it has nice ones). While the grip feels great and 1911’ish, it does not provide a whole lot of grip. Having a true custom gun is great, but you are going to pay, and wait, and wait a while most likely. But, it is yours. I can actually feel the difference between custom (one man shop) pistols I have, just weird little differences nobody else would notice. It’s sexy. fwiw, NHC would be my second choice after ACW. Their guns are more expensive and they use stainless barrels, but at least the finish is nice and they can actually do proper balls cuts if you are into those, their IOS RDS system is genius. Guncrafter is another place turning out good shit. Haven’t touched an EB is years, so I dunno. Down the price scale, Dan Wesson still makes a nice pistol. You can get a Baer for just over $2k and they are good pistol, usually a good trigger, and accurate AF. |

Based on the OP's criteria, I'd go Nighthawk or Ed Brown. But, personally, I prefer an HK45. It is a product improvement over the 1911 and runs like a sewing machine.

And I do agree with you on Kimbers, the last 1911 I would be purchasing |
