Quoted: I got both, but with P80 frames so the sights actually line up with whatever you point them at. View Quote I started carrying a G19.4 2010. I’ve put thousands and thousands of rounds through it, wore out a recoil spring, a couple other springs, and an extractor. Took half a dozen classes with it. Have many mags, holsters, etc… it’s a muscle memory gun for sure, I have no real reason to switch. I like my PSA Dagger a lot, but I bought a CZ P10c last year, and while I don’t have the time and training on it, I have to acknowledge, it’s a better pistol. For me at least. This doesn’t discount the 19, it was ahead of its time and subsequent rivals all tried to build on its lessons. To varying success, obviously. But some did. The VP9 is often mentioned. I have no experience with it, but seems promising. For me it’s the CZ. Better trigger, better ergos. Same footprint and capacity. At least for me. Downside? After market support is no where near as robust. But mine came with three mags, so I feel not under equipped for a pistol. Would love a fun stick or larger capacity option, perhaps sometime in the future. |

I never understood the g19x. The reason for the G19 is more concealability and they make the grip length the same as the G17… that’s the part that prints the most. Just get the G17 at that point.

I had owned/carried alot of handgun systems (HP, 1911, Glocks, 92/96, Sig P2xx, SP2xxx, etc) as well as a carrying G27 and G22 on duty before I went to an agency that issued only the G19 to everyone, no exceptions, and you could only carry the G19 off duty (completely ignored by everyone bc Texas). It was a plainclothes agency and I really liked the size and weight for carrying in a suit and off duty but I could never shoot as accurately with it as my G27 or G22. My 40's were both bone stock so I could never figure out why my G19 quals were worse than at old gig. I'd still rather have a G19 than the 43 Series but would probably have someone tune/replace the trigger. Glock triggers have always seemed squishy to me as compared to something like SA XD/XDm where there are no plastic parts in the trigger.
