Also, this was from the last time I ordered 762x39, over 15 years ago https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/77724/1000021106-3169562.jpg View Quote How does basic math know what I paid? I’ll agree it’s all relative. My point is, I doubt the PSA price point will be cheap enough that it isn’t worth reloading brass, like it was in the past. |

PSA steps up and does something no one thought was possible. People still bitch.

It won’t be pre-COVID pricing for shitty combloc ammo, and that’s ok. I don’t really want shitty combloc ammo. PSA seems to be carving out a niche making actually good ammo at a reasonable price, that will cost more and that’s ok.

I am thankful for all that cheap Tula ammo. Hope it comes back.

Quoted: How much cheaper is steel cased ammo over brass cased when made in the USA? I would gladly buy another AK and pay 0.10 more a round for brass cased instead of shitty steel case for LARPers. The only reason people ran steel cased was because it was cheap and this is a golden opportunity to make brass cheaper. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: I would assume getting the production set up is the first step and most people want cheaper steel cased 7.62x39. Once they are running production they can probably offer brass cases as well. The number one issue with 7.62x39 is inconsistent bullet weight and powder quantity due to crap QC. I assume PSA will do much better here. How much cheaper is steel cased ammo over brass cased when made in the USA? I hope pricing is good. I haven't shot any of my AKs in years
I think I still have around 8k left of Golden Tiger & 1k of Sliver Bear left |

They have a vested interest is making reasonably priced, reliable 7.62x39.

One of the bigger arguments against brass cased ammo (x39 & 5.45), is that AK extractors are rough on brass.
Brass fired from AK’s does not have an easy life. |

545 please!
And it won't be cheap. Probably same as their 556 rn |

People seem to forget that the USD has lost about a third of its buying power this decade.
The 15cpr new production rifle ammo is in the same place as the dollar menu double cheeseburgers and the $30k nicely optioned crew cab V8 half ton trucks: the past. |

I miss cheap Tula and wolf.
We will see how this AAC stuff goes. |

Quoted: I have 11k of x39. Back when SG ammo kept warning us about Russian ammo sanctions I was buying a case a week before covid. The writing was on the wall then. View Quote I just moved 16K of x39 into a Conex getting ready for a remodel of my house. I’m actually embarrassed to say how much ammo I have moved in the last 5 days. It is well north of 200K rounds of various ammo, with another 100K of components. At the rate I shoot, I try to tell myself (and my wife) that I’m not actually a hoarder, just well-prepared. But I’m not really sure. |

Quoted: I would infer that the design of the ak steel extractor exerts force on the softer brass case damaging the brass from what he said. So physics. View Quote That doesn't tell me anything. I'm curious why the AK extractor does it when other firearms don't. If it's something that can be fixed or adjusted, that would be neat. |

They beat up brass, it’s not the only design that does. KNS adjustable piston helps. |

I almost got the KNS piston for it, but like I said, I sold it. I wanted to reload with it because it got pretty good accuracy, but it would beat up the brass. I figured it was just the bolt speed and how violently they were getting thrown out. |

Deal only if they are $89 for 1000 crate of 7.62x39 russian ammo.

After getting my suppressor I just got approved after a few days and shooting some of the brown bear subs I bought years ago for a form1 can I was gonna build before the atf shut down form 1ing. If I was psa my number 2 7.62x39 ammo I started producing would be exactly that 170-200grn subs. Shit would sell like hot cakes at .50 a shot.

Quoted: I would infer that the design of the ak steel extractor exerts force on the softer brass case damaging the brass from what he said. View Quote Go check your AR. Extractor is also steel. Most folks are full of shit. AKs run brass case fine. Only "hard on brass" part is some of them launch the brass into the dust cover and dent the brass. Just size it, load it and shoot it again. I've been running the same brass cases through my ARs and AKs for a while. Brass is no worse off after AK use. |

Quoted: They have 2 flavors of 7.62x39 on the website, listed out of stock. Usually it appears on the website a few weeks before it is for sale. View Quote The fact they have two flavors (typical 122 grain FMJ AND a "SABRE Blade Black Tip" which I hope is a decent expanding bullet that would be awesome. 7.62x39 is 'meh' in typical FMJ, but when you get a decent expanding bullet it greatly increases the usefulness of 7.62x39 for hunting and defense. |

Don't worry. I was assured by people in the firearm community that I was over reacting to Biden's presidency, and that we'd see cheap ammo prices again |

Doubt it will be cheaper than the other offerings like Igman, ATS, Norma, and New Republic.
But at least supply is guaranteed now. There was a moment last year where 5.45 only had 3 listings on Ammoseek. |

Quoted: Per Jamin, the initial steel case plans are 7.62x39, 7.62x54r, and 5.45x39 View Quote Why the hell are they doing steel cased though? Just do cheap brass cased, so we can reload it easily! I guess if they did steel with boxer primers it would be OK (not ideal, but can be reloaded with primers we can actually source) but why not just go with brass? Their steel won’t be cheap enough to compete with imports. I do factor in the cost of throwing away the expended casings, vs being able to reload it when I buy ammo… |

2005- 2007 the golden years. AK kits out the ass with barrels.
$80-100 OTD on 7.62x39 for a 1k case at the local gun show. Also remember buying that Czech silver tip 7.62x54 for $60 a crate the same time. Sucks I was only making $10-14/hour just out of school for that timeframe |
