Unless CMP means "U.S. G.I.", forget it. I want the real deal.
And I can't believe that wasn't on the list. |
Given the recent love-fest in N.O. and subsequent LEO actions, I can't see spending money on anything you can't carry with you when you have to go. If it can't pierce a looter or vest, it will be something you just have to wavy bye-bye to as you hit the road. It's a great list if you have a boating accident in your future, though.

I would take the SPAS 12 off the list. And go with a wilson combat boarder patrol 870.
Trust me you don't want a spas 12 |
You seem to be missing the 120 mm smoothbore. A common mistake, I'm sure.
And why not? Sure they're over-priced. I just want one for the looks the morons will give me at the gun range. |
Winston Wolf was sellin' a Spas 12 in the EE......
And the Guide Gun is fun. Expensive to shoot, but fun.... |
if you need an arsenal-new 1919 kit, IM me, i may very well be unassing one soon
For that reason OK But the most complicated shotgun ever made.I would still like to have mine but sold it for a nice price, and really not worth what you will have to pay for one. |
I doubt I'd have the money even if I still had cash saved up from summer, but IM about a potential price if you do decide to sell it. It's a kit, so it's missing a receiver, right?
We've already got a Guide Gun, I just want one all my own. After the first two or three sessions with it, my dad stuck it in the safe and I've been the one buying and using all the .45-70 Government that comes into the house. Too bad for him about that old dislocated shoulder making big-bore rifles too uncomfortable to shoot. Maybe he can join Sarge in the .22 and doll section. |
uh...CMP M1 garands are government surplus GI M1 garands. |
The VEPR is about the only thing on your list that I like.
Your suggestion of converting an MG-42 to .308 should be punishable by death. ETA - Oh yeah, and the Bushmaster M4gery. I like Bushies too! Didn't see that one on the first pass. |
they're way over priced, parts are impossible to find, they're bulky, heavy and cumbersom. All they have going for them is they look cool. That's it. |
oh and the China Lake Armaments 40mm pump-action grenade launcher are rare, far too expensive, and jam-o-matics.
Subtle as always. And I agree. |
what about the MG3? |
8mm Mauser is expensive. An MG3 is easier to feed but you can't get those. |
8mm mauser is???? Geez, last year they couldn't *give* mil-surp 8mm away, I picked up 2789 rounds for 110 bucks..... |
Doesn't matter. If you can afford the gun then you should be able to afford the ammo. The MG-42 is an outstanding historical artifact. Converting one to .308 would be likie using the Holy Grail as a fish bowl. |
I agree with you, but what if he wants an MG3 clone or something? |
You need a FAL too. Hell, everyone should have at least one FAL if not more than one. Maybe some sort of G-3 clone too. |
+1 to that. |
You can't get more USGI than CMP. They are the government. |
CMP is not the government. They do have genuine USGI Garands though.
www.odcmp.com Scroll to "CMP Sales" (middle) Click on "Rifle Sales" "M1 Garand" Then select your grade - they've got nice USGI ones. |
seems good but any arfcommer worth their weight should have (or want) one of those switch barrel AR's from LMT called the MRP. dsarms sells em and they look really slick.
It's not like I can't swap the parts out. And I DID say it was a possibility, not something I was going to do. I'd prefer to keep it as original as possible. As for the Holy Grail... I was wondering why that goldfish got a little pope hat and stigmata. |
Another ditch the SPAS i had on it was a POS
I also a had a Medusa it was kinda cool and worked great Shot a Metaba worked OK Delta Elite get a high SN one and you should be OK BTW a Barrett 82 is not NFA......yet Don't know anout the pump Gernade launcher thingee rest of your list looks good to me |
I didn't say the Barrett 82 was NFA. It was included in the list of "ATF Regulated OR Just Plain Pipe Dreams", i.e., "I could never in my life afford even half of this stuff". |
DITTO!!! |
I'm gonna take a guess that he ment an AR-10 or something along those lines. |
ok, now go to www.odcmp.com and educate yourself on getting a USGI garand directly from the .gov... |
The CMP is no longer a government entity. It was shitcanned during Slick Willy's administration and is now a private corporation. |
Criticize? Okay.. That is the most fucked up wish list of firearms I have ever seen! Pathetic! WTF is wrong with you? I think you meant 'critique'. |
I say ad a PTR91 to the list of rifles, and for shits and giggles add a DE 50 to your list of pistols.
Nice prices, certainly better than I've seen at gunshows or advertised online. I'm a little confused by the terms they use to describe the condition of the rifles. Rack grade and field grade have good prices, but I have no idea what this "throat 5" and crap means. I assume it means that they're nearly shot out and will need new barrels and stocks? How about the service grade? I take it those rifles are in good condition? And does the NRA count as a CMP-friendly organization, or will I have to join another group to order a Garand? |
Why isnt there a H&K MP5 on your list.
Thats the top dog in my book. |
I'm well aware of that, but it hardly changes the fact that you're getting rifles from the gov't. the cmp is just the enabler and they're a gov't chartered corp, hardly the same as century or SA, Inc.... |
Plasma Rifle, 40 Watt Range |
Spas = POS, geta nice Rem 870 Marine Magnum.
You also need a nice repro Colt Cartridge Conversion so you can feel like Clint Eastwood. |
