There are short beds in TRD Sport and TRD OR trims and a long bed SR5. If that sticker is for the Sport, that might not be too bad. If it's for the SR5, it's going to be disappointing. |

View Quote I believe 265/70R17 tires are only for the TRD Offroad so my guess is that's the one we are looking at. SR5 should have 245/70R17. A minor complaint: Toyota when I want to look at more information on your website for the love of god have more information than "Spare: Full" under the entire tire section. |

OK, so these new Tacos are very much more new Tundra than old Taco. There is almost no resemblance to the previous generation beyond the name.
Customers will either rejoice at the changes and improvements or they will yell at clouds. That is all for now. |

So, 1200lb cargo capacity? They finally made it to where Audi was in a station wagon in 2003! Congrats!
For a truck that is a bit sad. 38 years ago we had small trucks with 1000+lb cargo capacity and we've only managed to add 200lbs. Probably rides like a boat like the previous gen. Pre-tacoma Toyota pickup from the late 80s to early 90s still remains the best Toyota pickup ever made. |

OEM shocks are better than anything I've found aftermarket. Rides fine on the road. My wagon is rated for 20% more and rides even better. Almost like technology advanced over time! A new super duty rides way better than an early 2000s model and has a higher payload. It's pretty slick when a vehicle is improved! But yeah, I'd prefer the late 80s yota over any of them from about the mid 90s to the current gen. Might even say I prefer the late 70s Yota pickup. |

Not having to deal with the Leer dealer alone is a win. No real opinions on composite vs metal truck bed for the mid sized, can't really say it's swayed me one way or another. I really didn't like that the local Chevy dealers were optioning their lot Colorado's with the plastic tub insert though, and same for the first few 4th gen Tacomas that showed up with bed liners to tack on an extra few hundred bucks to the price tag. I guess if I did have an opinion then it would be whichever one the brand chooses they should just own it instead of optioning it to something it's not, but options are money and money talks more than opinions. |

Interesting payload note.
Every Tacoma, regardless of trim, drive type, or bed length had an identical 1,200lb payload sticker. Every one. I checked every one I passed by. Dozens of them. |

Looks like they are hitting the lots now. Here is one in MI. ETA: $47k for a SR5 or $48k for fully loaded Trailboss or Z71 Colorado. Or $48k to $52k for a ZR2. And keep in mind that people are paying under MSRP now for the Colorado. I predict a lot of Toyota sales from brand loyalty at first but they may have a hard time moving these in 6 months.

I'll pay an extra 10% or whatever for a Toyota. ETA: the best affordable alternative to the Tacoma is the same as it always was... |
