Shepherd, of course!

Ground beef, mashed taters, a little gravy.  If there are leftover veggies like corn, peas, or diced carrots, some of those might find their way onto the filling.

OP wants Shepherd's pie.

I'm not putting up chicken noodle soup recipes and saying here make this.

Plus I hate going to a restaurant and ordering a Shepherd's pie only to find out they aren't doing it right.

I made some last week.

Sautéed the onion and garlic
Browned the Ground Lamb
Deglazed the pan with broth
Mixed in carrots, corn, peas
Simmered for like 10-20min
Put it in a casserole dish
Topped w/ parmesan mash taters
Bake until browned tater tips

I used to love Grandma Memma's mutton.

Use beef, lamb or pork or a mixture of any of them.  Sort of like every soda is called a Coke.

It’s like chicken pot pie, but with lamb and using mash potatoes not pastry. It really is a nice hearty meal.

As said, with beef it’s cottage pie and a good way to use any old hamburger left in the freezer.

And, I'm Irish enough to know the truth when I see it. A traditional 'leftover' meal, shepherd's pie and cottage pie are delicious. Of course, I don't eat fast food, so I may not be cultured enough.

I like shepherd’s pie.

Not the biggest fan of mutton (goat or sheep), though. Give me cabrito or lamb any day.

My dad made something similar with wild grouse (no, not shepherd’s pie, but a similar preparation) that was delicious.
