~10 years ago (when I still lived in Ohio), a pickup with a plow attachment on the front did a number right down the side of my car, in the parking lot. They were not plowing the lot - they were just there as customers.
At least these guys were cool enough to come into the store, and ask who owned it. i.e., they were raised right.
I ended up talking to the owner of the local landscaping/plowing company (boy was he pissed at his employees
), and we worked out a deal that wouldn't involve insurance. Long story short, I was like "We can avoid bringing your insurance company into it, if that's what you want. I want to take it to my guy to get it fixed - you can pay for it any way you like". And that's what he did. Worked out okay in the end, considering. My guy did an awesome job (which is why I insisted on using him), and it was like it never happened. Accidents happen. Owner of the company manned up, which is all that matters.
People who do hit and run bullshit like what you just experienced, are the lowest of the low, i.e. they were not raised right.
