Also wondering if I can wax them to keep from slipping with sweaty hands? It's hot af this summer!

Love the look of wood, but they dance around in my hand too much. Have rubber on anything I shoot regularly and want to be able to shoot fast.

Badass
The smooth grips go nicely with the unfluted cylinder.

Ahrends. They can have finger grooves or not. I also like VZ for g10 grips. Their checkered ones are nice

Old school S&W square butt targets grips.  I remember back in the 1980's they were $20-$25 a set.  Now they sell for $200.

For me it depends on the gun, my .454 and .44 magnum I like the smooth rosewood, smaller calibers, .41, .357, .38 etc I like checkered.   Form follows function.

Get a set of wood grips that fit your hand well and recoil is distributed well and there's no issues with slippage. I shoot matches with smooth wood grips shooting magnums in 100 degrees.

Some of my favorites are the VZ micarta grips.  Even the smooth ones have enough texture as to not be slippery.

I really liked Ahrends grips in general but the S&W x frame rubber grips are absolutely amazing on n frames.

I have had three pairs of nils grips, my favorite are the Bianchi style. Very comfortable.

I had a set from badger custom that shattered within 200 rounds of .44. They made it right and replaced them no fuss, but I sold the replacements as I didn't have confidence in them. They looked great though.

It depends on the gun and the ammo being shot. The Uncle Mike's Combat Grips that S&W used for awhile are ugly but very comfortable.

For good looks and moderately powerful loads, I like Magnas with a grip adapter. My Model 28-2:

The Pachmayr Compacs with the exposed backstrap are nice on my Model 64-2 snub.

I like the Hogue G10 grips for double action guns.  I bought a GP100 today, it's not here yet but I have the G10 grip on the way too.

The Hogue G10 LCR grip is great too:

Those big pebbled, rubber hogues with the finger grooves are super comfy and offer great control... not real practical for any sorta carry and look like nothing special... great for shooting tho.

I don't think I've found, or at least owned myself a good compromise between comfort, portability and cool to look at..

I generally don't like finger grooves but these Hogue's fit me pretty well.

And for good measure my grandfathers plastic stag horn grips lol.

Most my revolvers have rubber pachmayr type grips but I ran across the old wood spade type for one of then the other day. I think I will put them back on just because.

I have wood grips on the vast majority of my 50-something revolvers, rubber on some and a combination on a few.

I miss having a set of those old Roger's grips laying around. The last set I had were Safariland and they left on a model 10 that was traded.

44, 5 shot 45 Colt, 454 Casull, 475 & 500 Linebaugh in single actions, I like smooth grips. Not slick but smooth. Ivory is nice but

Same with big double actions with a lot of recoil.

K and L frame Smiths Smooth or factory checkered. I also like the Houge monogrip on some. Just not for looks.

I like wood witha lot of grain. Checkering covers a lot of it up. I dont have sweaty hands even when it boling out.

I miss the old pachmyrs that they used to make for the snubs. They were great, but now out of production, I guess.
