Whats the best places a person can check his own credit?   And does it hurt your credit when you check it?

go to the individual credit reporting bureaus and ask for a report.

Experian, TransUnion, Equifax.

And no, running a credit check won't affect your credit.

I think it only hurts your credit if you have loan application credit checks done too many times.

I stumbled on a free one a couple of weeks ago.  It gives you your combined score.  google will find it fer' ya'


ETA.  The one I found was "Credit Karma"

It is the law that all three must supply you a FREE credit report yearly (every 12 months or more not calendar year)

Equifax came up 777 even though I am up to my arm pits in credit card debt. I guess thats good?

Dave Ramsey (the financial peace guru) says that a credit score is actually an "I love debt score".  



I guess you may be proving his point.
