Got the App. Thanks for the heads up on that. I listen to NRA news pod cast every day and they haven't mentioned it.
I will be there Friday. See Y'all at the MagPul booth at 11:00 |

At the 2013 convention in Houston, I was carrying a cocked and locked 1911 fifty feet from Perry, Cruz, Jindal, Palin, etc.
They won't have Secret Service coverage until one of them is the nominee in the summer of '16. |

Standing in front of the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel, waiting to go to supper with our very own Mikey Webb, NRA Tennessee Senior Field Rep. Anybody out and about, eating and drankin'? I am staying at the MMH this weekend - I live in MJ, but it's easier for me to just stay than to fight the traffic every day.z I'm going to be busy alllllllday tomorrow. Worked downtown last night at station 2. Checked out the setup on the street in between the country music hall of fame and the convention center. Beretta display and a few small stages. Lots of surrounding restaurants/venues with NRA welcome signs. Should be a fun weekend. Ironically enough I made 2 runs to the ol' Stadium Inn, on the way I was really hoping it wasn't one of u guys! lol

Orange County Chopper bike, underwritten by Century Arms.
Custom made for the NRA Foundation.
Paul Senior is here and talked about it. Nice bike. Auctioned off for $40,000. |

Saw HKOVERKILL who gave me a hat and then dick heller wanted it. I told him you gave it to me and he said "I could wear this to my speech next week" lol
Also got to speak with lapierre, Tim knight, welikeshooting.com folks, Stephen Halbrook, some random guy I thought was Halbrook (sorry dude, room was loud), dick heller and a bunch of other folks. That was just the first night and it's before the exhibit hall opens. Tomorrow will be fantastic. |

I plan on heading out in the morning and spending the day there. Maybe see some of you guys at the 11:30 Magpul meet.

Saw Nolo, and met SCDonttreadonme.
Nice to meet you! Nolo asked me if I wanted to meet Dick Heller...!!! Well.... YEAH!!! An unexpected pleasure and honor, Sir! Am presently unlaxing in the hotel room with an adult beverage. BTW, I am liking Uber, the driving service. Downloaded the App, and it's been real convenient. Don't have to fight to park, and haven't had to wait more than 2/3 minutes. |

[span style='font-weight: bold;']I believe that you automatically get protection when you declare that you're running? Ask Robert Kennedy... View Quote No, only the nominees (after party convention, IOW) get SS protection. Unless there's a viable threat towards a candidate beforehand, then it can be added. |

Does FN have a booth? If so are they showing the 'rumored' semi auto M-249?

There's a long line to see R. Lee Ermy at the Glock booth...

Lots of backpacks. I would recommend a good sturdy smaller backpack for all the freebies. The bags Brownells is giving out are nice to carry all the handouts in but it got heavy quick.
Saw lots of cameras too. Plenty of media quality video being taken too. Saw old guy scooters, baby stroller, wagons, roller bags etc. Early on it was easy to move around. By the afternoon it was pretty crowded. I left around 2. Was great meeting up at the MagPul booth. Especially meeting Nolo. Good guy, and great sense of humor. Something about Stromboli. Got to meet Alan Gottlieb from 2nd Amendment Foundation, shake his hand and thank him for his work. NRA show celebs. by c.swimm, on Flickr Doug Ritter, Founder of Knife Rights.org was also there. NRA show celebs. by c.swimm, on Flickr Got to Meet Cam Edwards from NRA news.com's Cam and Company podcast and Also on the Outdoor Channel. I listen to his pod cast every day at work and on road trips. NRA show celebs. by c.swimm, on Flickr |

Cameras allowed? View Quote They are allowed as long as you're not taking pictures to "knock off" something.......saw a couple of those today.....They were taking way to many pictures of a NEW product and couldn't speak a lick of English....and when it was obvious the Rep realized what was going on they scooted on out of there..... |

bigash636 and I are going Sunday. don't want to mess with the lines tomorrow View Quote Probably a wise move. I would plan on getting there as early as possible. I got there at around 9:00 this morning and still could see some parking spots in close proximity of the Convention Center. But, they were all gone by the time I left at 1:00. Definitely take a good, sturdy backpack. If you forget yours, then some of the vendors will be more than happy to sell you one at the show. I was amazed by the amount of handouts and stickers that I collected by the end of the day. Cameras are allowed. I took my wife's cheap "point & shoot" camera instead of my larger camera as it was much smaller & I could just clip it to one of my backpack shoulder straps. A camera is also handy for taking photos of something that you think you might interested in following up on down the road. James |

I didn't catch anybody today. I'll be there in the morning for the members' meeting. I met Larry Potterfield and Col. Robert K Brown. I was within arms reach of Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Donald Trump. They're folks you don't see everyday.
I was disappointed not see any bolt face logos today. |
