Screw. That.

I went out and bought my new-to-me 2016 Road King and told them to cancel my return flight.

I now have transportation, and I should earn another Iron Butt patch on the ride home

It's a hoot.  I'm green as grass as a rider and it's a great first bike for me.

Still working on a place in my garage to work on my new bike that was given to me by @BobbityBobbity

Managed to take a couple of photos today just for "Starting pics".   I'm planning on going through her top to bottom and seeing if I can make her like new again.

Complete newb here.  @ 48 I finally decided to go and buy a bike.    got my permit, took it out a little bit around town when there isn't much traffic,  and am signed up for the penndot class/license at the end of the month.

I like wrenching on my Harleys as much as riding them. Getting the same lift the stealerships use means no more laying on the garage floor.
The forks on my Dyna Wide Glide need of rebuilding and probably a new tire.
With what the stealerships quote for work this should be cost neutral in a month or two wrenching on the occasional weekend.

Other stuff in life took my time but thankfully didn't sell off any of my bikes.  Bought all them new so I have been the only only owner and figured I would be pissed some day if I sold them off.  Spent the last 9 days working on them to get all the fluids changed and ready to ride.  Don't let this happen to you

Started with the 2012 Daytona 675. 8 Years setting in a midwest garage.  Tank had some nasty gas and some corrosion in the tank but no varnish deposits.  EvapoRust and about 60 small washers and nuts thrown to shake around in the tank is some great stuff BTW for cleaning that out.  Pulled fuel pump and cleaned all that up and hooked 12v to pump and it ran, but couldn't reuse sealing gasket so ordered one for about $20.  New battery of course... Changed/bled brake, coolant, and oil out and it fired right up.  Put about 130 miles on it in two days and runs great.  The 2009 DRZ400SM tank was spotless.  I might chalk that up to running some of that non Ethanol engineered fuel (TruFuel) you find a Lowes and such for storage?  Front brake lever had no pressure.... pulled all the way to the grip with no resistance.  Got that bled out with new fluid and did the back brakes too and good to go.  It has an aftermarket FCR39MX carb.  Got it started 2 days ago and it would not run without choke.  Pulled the bowl off and the pilot jet was plugged as expected.  Cleaned it out and got it running again with the jumper pack and now idles with choke off after a little warmup.  Battery arrived today and ready for a test ride today then will change oil and coolant.

Last is the 2006 SV1000S.  If I have to guess this bike has not ran for 10 years.  Stored in a climate controlled workshop that stays about 60-70 all year.
Pulled the tank today.  It has some corrosion so used the EvapoRust (you can re-use that stuff over and over) and in a few hours it looked OK but there was a little under a half gallon of nasty fuel in it that left some varnish where it sat. Poured in a quart of Lacquer thinner eats that stuff up like nothing.  Hooked up the jumper pack and the fuel pump is toast and won't run but found an aftermarket rebuild kit for about 80 bucks.  Especially with the SV1000S, i'm finding it crazy trying to remember what mods and all the in's and outs of a bike you put over 22,000 miles on once it has sat for over a decade.  (Power commander mapped via dyno tune PAIR delete, whatever else?, Fuel pump and clutch line due to arrive in about 7 days so will have to just go from there......

All have nearly new Pilot Power 2CT tires so I guess that is good....

Up until a few years ago I had zero interest in motorcycles, and had only ridden one (a minibike I immediately put into a fence when I was about 10).

Then a few years ago I started randomly getting interested in them. I'd always thought if I ever got one I'd be a crotch rocket squid, but I guess my mid life crisis Wild Hogs phase has started. I bought a 2005 Vulcan 800 Classic

I haven't actually ridden it yet. Today I stopped by a Cyclegear store and loaded up on riding gear, all cheap stuff which I'll replace as it wears out or I get too pissed off at it. I might go out tomorrow and practice in a nearby parking lot.

A good friend of mine used to ride a lot, but has had a lot of health problems and very little money so he hasn't had a bike in years. So, the same woman I bought the Vulcan from also had an 07 Shadow 750 which had been laid down and had minor cosmetic damage, and was just sitting for a long time. So I went ahead and bought that too

My buddy doesn't know it yet, but I bought it specifically so we can ride together when I get it fixed

Felt  like it was time for something different. I picked a new '23 Moto Guzzi V85 TT for a pretty decent price yesterday and put a little over 100 miles on it getting a feel for how it handles riding around town and then up in the mountains. Going from a high reving 660cc triple (Triumph) to a 850 v-twin is definitely going to take some adjustment.

Nice!

I have the V9 and it gets looks wherever it goes.  Not a high revving engine at all, but plenty of power if "riding" is the goal (vs wheelies and such).

Sold my ST1300, many miles on it, but tired of pulling out a big bike to ride by myself 90% of the time..

Oldest just turned 14, so we got her a lightly used CB300R..

And I just picked up this MT07 to ride with her

Those red and also the yellow1050s look great. Last year, a leftover yellow/blue 1050 was tempting me.

Im rollin on 2012 650 strom that I bought new in 2013 and it’s still a great machine. I’d ride it across the country tomorrow if I had the time.

On my short list. I just don’t know if I want to tolerate the (relatively) short valve adjustment intervals compared to a Pike’s Peak or S1000XR.
