Can you name three ships from the movies besides the Death Star?
Name of ship must have been used in a movie. |

Executor Was the Executor name ever actually attributed to Vader's SSD onscreen? I remember having an argument in middle school about it. |

Tantive IV Avenger Executor Were any of these actually named in the movies? Not as far as I know. Probably named in the scripts, though. |

I'm pretty sure Tantive IV and Avenger were, and we've shown Executor wasn't.
Not accepting EU are you? |

Em Falcon
Red Leader Blue Leader That wasn''t too tough! Yes, I know, they are call signs, but the signs go with the ship as well with the person..................and the OP didn't specify. ____________________________________________________________________________ ("I'm HIT!"––one of the hapless starfighters, (w,stte), "Star Wars") |

I added the edit because in my sleep deprived mind, I can only come up with names for two ships out of all of the movies. |

Were the TIE (twin ion engined) fighters named in dialog in StarWars or were they just imperial fighters?

We're the TIE (twin ion engined) fighters named in dialog in StarWars or were they just imperial fighters? Never heard of an actual name. Just type (TIE fighters) or the generic Imperial fighters. |

I remember a lot of the geek details were discovered in Starlog, or the backs of the trading cards, or the action figures & models.
|
|
"Millenium Falcon" (Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 Light Freighter)
"TIE Fighter" (Seinar Fleet Systems TIE/ln starfighter) "X-wing-class" (Incom T-65 X-wing starfighter) "T-47" Snowspeeder (Incom T-47 airspeeder) "Star Destroyer Avenger" (Kuat Drive Yards Imperial-II class Star Destroyer) "Shuttle Tyderium" (Seinar Fleet Systems Lambda-class T-4a shuttle) "Medical Frigate" (Kuat Drive Yards EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate) "Home One" (Mon Calamari Shipyards MC80 Star Cruiser) "Super Star Destroyer" (Kuat Drive Yards Executor-class Star Destroyer) |
|
In most of the movies I just recall everyone using the generic class/type descriptions of any given ship
Mon Calamari cruiser the goofy looking medical frigate star destroyers etc Honestly the only one I can actually remember being actually named was the falcon. I dont recall Tantive IV or Slave 1 actually being named on screen. Though to be fair its been years since Ive watched them This is of course only considering 4-6. I just like to pretend 1-3 dont exist. |

Dammit, now I'm wondering about Tantive IV and Slave I now too....
I know I actually "heard" Tantive IV because I thought it was weird whoever said it pronounced it with a long "e"...but I'm not sure if it was from the NPR Radio dramatization or not. The LA Law guy might of said it in ep.3, but I'm not gonna watch through it to confirm it. |

It's obvious from the StarWars Christmas special, that Lucas had no idea what he had and most of the cannon was created one off with little context in the first film.
The X-Wings should of had rebel nose art.

Yeah it was the flagship at the Battle for Endor, actually one of the larger Mon Cal ships at around 3,800 meters or so compared to the 1200-1500 meters of the others like the winged cruiser Liberty that got nuked by the DS2 first attack. It is the one that the Tyderium flew out from and also in the scene where the Falcon and Rebel fighters were flying through the capital ship formation before they jumped to Endor.

The Corellian corvette Tantive IV, sometimes identified as a blockade runner, is the first ship to appear in Star Wars

Well, yeah.
But did they ever actually call it that onscreen? |

afterburners and came in low on Deak's trail. I was so close I thought I was going to fry my instruments. As it was I busted up the Skyhopper pretty bad. Uncle Owen was pretty upset. He grounded me for the rest of the season. You should have been there...it was fantastic. |

Most of it better than what Lucas himself has put out. |
